The protagonist's fiancée, Alexia, came from the game Resident Evil. Alexia was the granddaughter of Edward, one of Umbrella's three founding elders. Alexander had created her through artificial insemination by extracting the genes of Veronica, the first head of the Ashford Lineage. In 1940 in the Marvel Universe, ten-year-old Alexia graduated top of her class from a prestigious university and became the head of the Antarctic Research Institute. After creating the Veronica Virus, she disappeared under the pretext of dying from viral infection. Fifteen years later, she awakened at the Antarctic base and became the queen-infected host of the Veronica Virus.
In terms of intelligence, she was perfect—frighteningly so. Even as a child, she had been different from everyone else, constantly skipping grades until she graduated first in her class from a prestigious university at the age of ten. Her genius and wisdom even left the British media of the time in awe. The protagonist made an exception and appointed her chief researcher of the Antarctic Research Institute, making her the youngest chief researcher in Umbrella's history.
The Veronica Virus was a powerful virus created by fusing a Progenitor Virus variant with a queen ant and combining it with plant DNA. It could cause living organisms to mutate and even reshape ecosystems. Alexia, its successful host, was one of the strongest bosses in the Resident Evil series. Because it could highly assimilate organisms, create special social structures, grant infected hosts tremendous power, and cause relatively little harm to its hosts, it was considered the most successful virus. However, it also had flaws, such as infecting too quickly and easily damaging human cells. The currently known remedies were low-temperature symbiosis and periodic organ transplantation, both requiring a fifteen-year cycle. The "virus" appearing in Resident Evil 6 was also closely related to the Veronica Virus.
