More than a dozen pirates landed steadily on the black deck, their curved blades glinting in the sunlight.
They surrounded Lin Ye, shifting their footing to block every route he could take to escape by jumping into the sea.
Lin Ye sat at the bow, holding a piece of dried sea beast meat and chewing it bite by bite.
He had no intention of standing. He merely lifted his eyelids and swept a glance over the pirates.
"Kid, scared stupid?"
A bald pirate stepped forward, gripping a cleaver with a blood groove, its tip pointed at Lin Ye's nose.
"Hurry up and hand over everything valuable you've got! Take off your Storage Soul Tool too. Move it, and since I'm in a good mood today, I might even leave you an intact corpse."
Lin Ye swallowed the dried meat in his mouth, brushed the crumbs from his hands, and looked at the bald pirate.
"When you rob people, don't you have a proper procedure?"
The bald pirate froze. He had been a pirate for over a decade, robbed merchant ships, and slaughtered civilians. Whenever those people saw them, they either dropped to their knees and begged for mercy or pissed themselves in terror.
Yet today, this young man was sitting there eating meat and asking him about the procedure for robbery?
"Is there water in your brain?" the bald pirate cursed.
"The blade in my hand is the procedure! Cut the crap and hand over the money!"
Lin Ye sighed and shook his head.
"That's terribly unprofessional. You start shouting about killing and fighting without even an opening line. It really ruins the immersion for me."
A tall, skinny pirate leaned close to the bald man and whispered.
"Second Boss, do you think this kid got scared insane by us?
