"Although so many Celestial Immortals gathered here that they were everywhere like weeds, I still felt we ought to retain some dignity."
Lu Ren sized him up. The aura he gave off was merely at the initial stage of the Celestial Immortal realm, no wonder he was active in the Cloudfall Zone.
"You've been reduced to a miner, yet you still care about saving face."
Lu Ren snorted softly. "Fellow Daoist, I have no need for dignity. Could you move farther away? Sometimes, clinging too hard to one's pride is painful."
The sword-bearing man stared at Lu Ren in utter disbelief. He seemed shaken that the other man could utter words so unbecoming of a Celestial Immortal. After all, among the Celestial Immortals he had encountered within Hanging Mountain, the sheer number of them had brought everyone's mindset down to the same level.
Still, they retained some regard for their status and had never behaved as Lu Ren did.
"You... you are utterly vulgar!"
The sword-bearing man stormed off, clearly intending to let his eyes be spared the sight. He plainly looked down on Lu Ren's behavior.
Lu Ren could not help shaking his head slightly. He found it rather novel that a Celestial Immortal could still be so pedantic. Raising his gaze, he looked around. Other than Ironwood Forest, there were only herds of vicious beasts drifting about like flying fish, or solitary, higher-level predators wandering aimlessly.
Aside from the fact that the Cloud Sea below was nothing like seawater, everything else resembled an ocean world. Beyond that, this world was simply too deep and mysterious for Lu Ren to understand. The terrain was not bad. With the material used to construct the ancient roads, even Celestial Immortal-level vicious beasts could not damage them, despite the beasts running rampant.
