Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
Yi Feng had originally wanted to share some dragon whiskers with Old Man Fu. After all, they lived in the same courtyard—when fortune came, it should be shared. Even if there was less to go around, it still tasted pretty good.
Who would have thought the old man seemed possessed?
For two days, he neither ate nor drank, knowing only how to plant some damned peonies!
Left with no choice, Yi Feng could only enjoy them all by himself.
At night, he made a cold dragon-whisker salad, paired with stir-fried dragon whiskers. One whisker, two dishes—damn satisfying!
He also took a couple of sips of wine. Life was sweet indeed.
All that was missing was a couple of people for a few rounds of Fight the Landlord!
What a pity.
Good days were always fleeting. After only two meals, the dragon whiskers were gone...
Early morning.
As usual, Yi Feng got up bright and early, brimming with positive energy.
He sat comfortably in the courtyard sipping tea, watching the old man in the corner huff and puff as he shoveled soil and prepared the ground, still wholly absorbed in planting flowers. It was like watching the morning sports news, filling his whole body with strength.
But after watching for a while, it was just the same few movements back and forth, nowhere near as flashy as cooking.
Yi Feng soon lost interest.
Leisurely, he headed out as usual to seek out the elderly gentlemen at the village entrance for a chat.
Over these past days, he had already wormed his way into the village's inner circle. So long as he listened to the elderly gentlemen and ladies chatter for a few sentences, every family's secrets became crystal clear to him.
