Background

Yi Feng lived an unremarkable life on Earth, where he ran a fried-chicken shop. After transmigrating to a cultivation world, he initially expected a life of power and romance, but learned that his naturally blocked meridians made cultivation impossible 1.

His Golden Finger gave him a Martial Arts Hall and elevated numerous disciplines—including combat arts, craftsmanship, painting, calligraphy, and healing—to the “Comparable to Gods” realm. Convinced these talents were worthless against cultivators, Yi Feng accepted life as a mortal grandmaster, selling self-drawn martial-arts books to ordinary people and the children of cultivators 1.

Though Yi Feng considered himself powerless, cultivators repeatedly interpreted his skills, possessions, and casual actions as signs of unfathomable strength. His books caused major repercussions in Pingjiang City, while his Martial Arts Hall became associated with formidable experts and Emperor Grade artifacts 33 59 220.

The System later tasked him with expanding the Martial Arts Hall, founding a sect, and recruiting one hundred disciples in exchange for the ability to cultivate 327. After fulfilling the necessary requirements, Yi Feng finally gained cultivation and entered the Immortal Realm, where his power continued to grow beyond his own understanding 553 590.

Appearance

Yi Feng is a handsome young man whose ordinary, gentle presentation repeatedly causes others to underestimate him. Those who know him often describe an elegant, detached bearing beneath his approachable manner 128 432.

  • Often wears plain robes, including a gray robe during his early days at the Martial Arts Hall 1.
  • Maintains a faint smile and an outwardly calm demeanor even in dangerous situations 128.
  • Is described as refined, handsome, and possessing an ethereal aura after revealing more of his strength 795.
  • Later appears in white robes, with sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes 1340.

Personality

Yi Feng is fundamentally practical, good-natured, and attached to simple comforts. Even after gaining overwhelming power, he enjoys cooking, drinking, reading, teaching, earning money, and spending time with friends. He repeatedly tries to maintain an ordinary life rather than pursue prestige 211 1028 1186.

He is candid to the point of tactlessness. Yi Feng openly admits his admiration for beautiful women, but normally respects their boundaries and refuses to indulge manipulative behavior 37 898. He can be frugal and hot-tempered when others misuse his money or trust, as demonstrated by his violent reaction to Lou Benwei’s extravagance 142.

Despite often misunderstanding the cultivation world around him, Yi Feng is protective of those he considers his own. He seeks retribution for attempts on Zhong Qing’s life, supports disciples and friends against powerful families, and refuses to abandon Bai Piaopiao when she faces danger 88 235 988.
