Mandrake Monster

Hogwarts' greenhouse was a massive glass dome, and now one of its panels had been smashed from the inside out. A huge crowd of young wizards had gathered around the hole, seemingly watching something.

Honestly, Kane felt an inexplicable sense of unease at the sight.

It was not until he pushed through the crowd that he saw what they were actually watching.

Two plump, living white radishes were angrily chasing the Weasley twins, while everyone else watched with delight—including the Weasley twins themselves.

After all, those two big white radishes did not look like they had any offensive power.

But Kane was different. He rubbed his face tiredly. Why did every absurd thing have to happen to him?

Could Maxwell please suddenly pop out and explain why the real-world Mandrakes planted in this damn greenhouse had been coaxed by fruit flies, listened to a few songs, turned into something from the Eternal Realm, and then damn well become sentient?

Just as he was about to figure it out, the fleeing Weasley twins and the chattering Mandrake Monsters interrupted his train of thought.

With a helpless sigh, Kane stuffed his wand into his pocket, strode forward, and gave the Mandrake Monsters two resounding slaps that left them dazed. Then he mounted one of them and began punching and kicking it.

The young wizards who had just watched the two Mandrake Monsters open their radish mouths to hurt someone were now even more excited. The moment Kane started fighting, the circle of spectators instantly more than doubled in size.

When the other Mandrake Monster hurried over to help its companion, it was sent reeling by a hard kick to the chest.
