Since it was supposed to be a surprise, Kane naturally kept his mouth shut and walked into the Forbidden Forest on his own.

He was different from Lupin. Lupin had not seen Hagrid for who knew how long, so it was a reunion between old friends. Kane, on the other hand, saw Hagrid every day—sometimes twice or even three times a day—so there was definitely not that much to talk about.

After entering the Forbidden Forest, he casually found a tree of moderate size, placed a hand against it, and slowly let his shadow erode into it.

Once he sensed the tree beginning to change strangely, Kane very naturally pulled an exquisite axe from his hat, a bizarre smile hanging on his face.

As for why he was going traditional this time instead of simply using shadow to carve it into Living Wood in one stroke...

Kane slowly exhaled. Thanks to the Walking Cane lying within the Shadow Codex, which increased his speed by twenty-five percent, his tree-chopping speed was now outrageously fast as well.

So, he simply sat on the ground, took out two Purple Gems from his hat, pressed them together with the Living Wood, added a dash of Shadow Erosion for seasoning, and a crude Teleportation Wand with
