"Dumbledore? There's something I need to ask you." After pushing the door open and walking in, Kane first looked around. When he saw that Grindelwald was nowhere in sight, he felt something he couldn't quite explain.
In any case, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Dumbledore, however, had no idea what Kane was up to. He was rather curious why Kane had brought Hermione along today.
Dumbledore wasn't the only one who was curious. Hermione was too. Almost no one wanted a third person present when they were discussing something with someone else, whether the matter was important or not.
But Kane certainly didn't disappoint.
"Dumbledore, cast that Confundus Charm on Hermione."
As soon as Kane said that, Dumbledore and Hermione were both speechless. They both wondered how someone like him could possibly exist.
After thinking it over, though, they accepted it.
Hermione was the first to do so. She sat down on the sofa in resignation and continued researching the information about Maxwell that she had yet to figure out.
Dumbledore watched this with a helpless look. "Good thing Hermione is so good-tempered. But are you sure you mean the Confundus Charm?"
"You can't blame me. Due to certain circumstances beyond my control, don't expect me to be alone in a room with you ever again. Of course, it doesn't have to be the Confundus Charm. A Silencing Charm would work too," Kane said very seriously.
Dumbledore shrugged helplessly. With a casual wave of his wand, he enclosed Hermione in a soundproof field, then looked at Kane curiously, wondering what he had to say this time.
