Tracing through the mist, between reality and illusion

A being resembling an elderly human floated in midair, its translucent body flickering constantly with purple light. As Lin Ye approached, the old man turned toward him, a spark of recognition flashing in his eyes.

"You... a newcomer..." The old man's voice sounded directly in Lin Ye's mind. "Not yet... fully... transformed..."

Lin Ye was surprised to discover that he could establish some kind of mental connection with these beings. "What is this place?" he tried replying through his thoughts.

"Boundary... trap... waiting..." The old man's response came in broken fragments. Then his form began to twist, and his consciousness sank back into confusion.

Continuing onward, Lin Ye tried communicating with more beings, hoping to piece together information about this space. He learned that the Dimensional Boundary was a special state of existence, a "Waiting Zone." Those swept into the Dimensional Rift but not fully assimilated by the Void would be trapped here until they either transformed completely into Void Creatures or found a way back to reality.

Most beings were eventually assimilated by the Void. This seemed to be the most common outcome.

There has to be a way back, Lin Ye thought resolutely. Luffy returned, which means a passage exists.

Just then, a faint but clear voice suddenly caught Lin Ye's attention:

"Key bearer... you have come..."

Unlike the confused consciousnesses he had encountered before, this voice carried a clear purpose, seemingly directed specifically at Lin Ye. Following it, he carefully crossed the Void and arrived at a peculiar space.

A fragment of a miniature island floated here, bearing a ruined stone platform that looked like part of some ancient altar. On the platform, a being whose form constantly shifted yet retained a basic human shape waited quietly.
