Kordo's expression instantly shifted from calmness to fury. He slowly raised a hand and removed the heavy glasses he had always worn. When the glasses left his face, everyone present gasped—the eyes beneath no longer looked human.
Where his eyeballs should have been were now two deep purple vortices, constantly spinning as though they connected to the deepest reaches of the Void. Distorted images occasionally flickered within them: afterimages of countless worlds and lives that had been devoured. Whenever he stared directly at someone, the person being watched felt a tremor rise from the depths of their soul.
"Do you really think a few Anchor Stones can stop the Void from descending?" Kordo's voice became low and hollow, every word carrying an echo from the abyss. "I have already merged with the Void Origin and become a bridge between two worlds!"
He raised his staff high. Embedded at its tip was a black-purple crystal Lin Ye had never seen before. The crystal radiated a suffocating pressure, and the surrounding air warped under its presence, forming visible vortices.
"A fragment of the Void Origin..." Lin Ye recognized the terrifying object, and his face instantly turned pale. "No wonder he can control Void power so easily."
Kordo sneered and swung his staff. The purple vortex in the sky, which had been dispersing, suddenly expanded at an alarming rate until it spanned several kilometers in diameter. Deafening roars came from its depths, followed by hundreds upon thousands of Void Creatures pouring out, blotting out the sky.
These creatures came in all forms, yet every one of them radiated the same terrifying aura. Some resembled enormous bats, with wingspans exceeding ten meters and shimmering purple patterns covering their wings. Others looked like twisted humanoids, their bodies formed from translucent Void Energy and their faces
