Jupiter orbit, one week later.
The largest gas giant in the Solar System was undertaking an unprecedented act of creation.
Above Jupiter's south pole, three spherical pods, each ten meters in diameter, slowly took shape. Jupiter's consciousness formed them directly. Their surfaces gave off a gentle blue glow, and their internal structures were more complex than humans could comprehend.
"Will this really work?" Ace asked Jupiter through their consciousness link.
"Trust me, warrior of Earth." Jupiter's response brimmed with confidence. "I have existed for four and a half billion years and witnessed the birth of the Solar System. I developed this life-pod technology over those long ages."
The pods were not hollow inside, but filled with a kind of semisolid energy substance. It could mold perfectly to the occupants' bodies, providing life support while withstanding the immense pressure of faster-than-light flight.
At Watchers Alliance headquarters, Jinbe was making the final arrangements.
"Luffy, are you sure you want to do this?" Jinbe asked over the communicator. "The risk is far too great."
Luffy's voice came through the communicator. "Jinbe, Lin Ye was willing to give his life to protect everyone. All we're doing now is merging our consciousnesses. That's nothing."
"And time won't wait for us," Zoro added. "The situation on Pluto is getting more dangerous. We have to get there as soon as possible."
Ace also made his position clear. "I've already spoken with Jupiter. It'll keep our consciousnesses from being completely assimilated. There's a risk, but our chances of success are high."
Jinbe sighed. "Then you must be careful. I'll coordinate everything here on Earth so you won't have to worry about anything back home."
In Jupiter's orbit, the three life pods were ready.
Luffy was the first to enter his pod.
