"Ah! Pirates! Those pirates are back!"
The panicked people fleeing across the island cried out in terror as they scattered in every direction.
But when the pirate ship drew close to the shore, some people actually gathered together, holding wooden clubs or metal tools as if they were preparing to resist.
However, judging by their expressions, every one of them was terrified out of their wits.
"My lord, we've arrived. This is the nearest island!"
The pirate captain did not spare the island a glance as he spoke respectfully to Lin Ye, his respect bordering on fawning.
Lin Ye rose and leaped into the air, landing directly on the beach by the island.
"Move! Move!"
The moment Lin Ye stepped off the ship, the pirate captain immediately roared.
The islanders also watched Lin Ye, who had jumped down from the ship, with trembling fear in their hearts.
Turning to look at the pirate ship trying to turn around and sail away, Lin Ye raised Enma in his hand.
Swish, swish, swish.
Dozens of Flying Slashes shot forth.
Boom!
The entire ship instantly broke apart. Treasure, mangled bodies, and shattered pieces of the vessel rained into the sea.
Clang.
The islanders who had witnessed everything could no longer hold onto their weapons. They stared at Lin Ye with despair written across their faces.
[Blank Trait: 501]
Not bad. Those people had died quite profitably.
Although they had been weak, the pirates aboard that ship had actually yielded twenty Blank Traits after being broken down.
Lin Ye turned and walked toward the stunned islanders.
"The treasure stolen from you fell into the sea. If you want it back, go look for it yourselves!"
Once he approached, Lin Ye's gaze swept across the terrified faces before finally settling on an old man.
"My lord, aren't you a pirate?"
Under Lin Ye's gaze, the old man swallowed before speaking.
"I am a pirate!"
Lin Ye nodded.
"But unlike those pirates, I'm here to ask for directions."
Ask for directions?
The old man and the others relaxed slightly.
So they were not going to die?
Yet having personally watched Lin Ye slice a pirate ship into pieces, none of them dared show the slightest negligence.
"Yes, yes, my lord, please!"
The old man hurriedly nodded and tried to invite Lin Ye farther inland.
Lin Ye swept his Observation Haki across the island, which was littered with corpses, then shook his head.
"Ohara. I want to go to Ohara."
When Lin Ye did not move and instead spoke the name Ohara, the others looked completely baffled.
Only the old man looked surprised.
"So my lord is headed for the Island of Scholars. But this place is very far from Ohara, and this humble one has never been to Ohara either."
As the old man spoke, he kept watching Lin Ye's expression.
"However, while I don't know, there is a large island nearby where someone will definitely know."
Lin Ye gestured for him to continue.
The old man then took out a somewhat worn pointer.
"My lord, this is a pointer for Rachisia Island. By ship, it will take at most two or three days to arrive. There are many merchants there, and someone will surely know how to get to Ohara."
Lin Ye raised his hand and took the old pointer. After turning it slightly, he saw that it continued pointing in the same direction.
"Fine. Prepare a small boat for me."
Lin Ye nodded.
"Um, there's a Marine base on Rachisia Island."
The old man said this cautiously.
Having lived for so long, the old man still knew quite a bit about the affairs of the world.
Lin Ye was clearly the swordsman who had appeared in the newspapers before.
He was a powerhouse of the seas.
He was far beyond what ordinary people could deal with.
The old man did not dare conceal anything. The Marines might not be able to catch him, and if they failed, this man might return for revenge. By then, there probably would not be a single living person left on the island.
"A Marine base."
Lin Ye nodded and waved it off without much concern.
"Yes, we'll bring the boat over right away."
Seeing Lin Ye's gesture, the old man nodded repeatedly and immediately went to make preparations.
Before long, a small boat arrived from the other side of the island.
It was about the same size as the little boat Lin Ye had taken when leaving Wano Country.
However, compared to the Grand Line, the environment of the Four Blues was far too mild.
And for a journey of around three days, there should not be any problem.
"My lord, this is a scabbard. And this is an outfit once commissioned by a noble lord, but the island where that lord lived was later overrun by pirates."
The old man held out a scabbard, while a young girl beside him held a set of black clothing.
Lin Ye's gaze fell on the old man. Then he nodded, took the scabbard, and after examining it, sheathed Enma.
It actually fit perfectly.
Lin Ye looked at the old man in surprise, but he did not ask any questions.
He took the clothes from the girl's hands and leaped onto the boat. The islanders aboard hurriedly got off.
Then the boat turned directly around and sailed away.
"Phew!"
Only when the small boat had traveled so far that it was almost out of sight did the old man's body go limp and fall backward. The girl beside him hurriedly supported him.
"Grandpa!"
"I'm fine. We've made it through this trial. There are too many powerful people on the seas. Encountering just one of them could destroy our island."
The old man sighed.
"Right, quickly! Send people to salvage the wreckage, and gather those pirates' weapons too. We must arm ourselves."
The old man suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said.
The remaining young people rushed toward the shore one after another, diving into the sea in succession.
Lin Ye did not care what happened on the island behind him.
Controlling the flow of Haki, the wooden boat beneath his feet sped toward its destination like an arrow released from a bow.
The outfit in his hands was a set of black swordsman's attire.
It looked rather luxurious, yet it was also well-suited for movement.
The inside was soft, while the outer layer looked somewhat glossy, with patterns traced in gold thread.
It was probably something like that noble's family crest.
Lin Ye raised his hand and pulled out the gaudy gold-thread patterns.
The entire outfit became fitted swordsman's attire.
Since it had been tailored for a noble, that old man or someone on that island was probably a craftsman of some kind. No wonder they could prepare a scabbard of the right size and clothes that fit him.
Lin Ye gathered his long black hair behind him and casually tied it with the gold thread he had pulled out, then turned his gaze toward the direction indicated by the pointer.
The timing should be about right. It had taken three months to leave the Calm Belt this time.
The Ohara incident should take place within these next two months.
Lin Ye naturally knew that if he simply exposed his identity somewhere, he could probably draw the Marines' powerhouses to him.
But those Marines would definitely come prepared, not just one or two of them.
By then, he would most likely be dragged into a hard battle.
Lin Ye did not think he could currently confront the Marines' top forces head-on when they came prepared.
But facing a single Logia user alone would not be a problem.
After all, he was not seeking a satisfying battle. He was after the Fruit ability.
What others called a three-day sea journey took Lin Ye only one day as he controlled the Haki flow through the small boat, and he soon saw the enormous island ahead.
Sure enough, having a pointer was much faster.
It seemed finding a navigator had become an urgent matter.
