Assistant Lin Gets Drunk
The newcomer was also a handsome man in a suit and leather shoes, though compared to the male lead, he fell far short.
"Hello, may I ask for your contact information?" the man asked with a smile, pointing at a group of people seated some distance away.
Lin Su noticed that there was already quite a bit of alcohol on their table. They had arrived much earlier than he and Mu Xiaomu had.
"I lost a game. Don't worry, I definitely won't bother you," the man said righteously, even taking out a business card.
Lin Su glanced at it. It clearly read: Zhao Qi, Manager, Origin Initiation Co., Ltd.
He had encountered the person in charge of that company several times at previous bidding conferences. She was a thirty-year-old female Omega whose manner of speaking and way of handling affairs were in no way inferior to those of a male Alpha.
Without a word, Lin Su naturally took out a pen and wrote down a string of numbers on the back of the card.
The man's eyes lit up. "Thank you."
Throughout it all, Lin Su merely smiled and said nothing. It was not until the man left that Mu Xiaomu finally recovered from her shock.
"Y-you..."
Lin Su smiled. "It's the company number. You can use it in the future too."
Just as she thought. Lin Su might seem gentle, but he was not someone who could be picked up so easily. How could he casually leave his own number for such a clumsy tactic disguised as a game?
The bar had plenty of food. The two chatted and laughed over amusing things that had happened in their lives. By then, everything on the table had been cleaned out except for the untouched glass of alcohol by Lin Su's hand.
Lin Su looked at the golden tequila before him, slowly lifted it, and took a small sip. Its rich aroma seemed familiar, yet somewhat strange.
This counted as his first time drinking tequila, didn't it?
His peach-blossom eyes fixed on the drink with a complicated look. In the end, he lowered his gaze, then drained it in one gulp under Mu Xiaomu's astonished stare.
Sure enough, it tasted different.
Lin Su concealed the disappointment in his eyes. When he looked up again, his gentle expression had returned. "Let's go."
Mu Xiaomu's legs were nowhere near as long as his. She had to jog after him, and if Lin Su had not stopped to wait for her, she probably would not have caught up.
"Sorry." He had failed to control his emotions and made the girl run after him for so long.
Mu Xiaomu hurriedly shook her head. "No, no, no. You don't need to apologize."
I know you're nursing a broken heart. I understand, I understand, she thought.
The two walked side by side on the way back to the glasses shop, each lost in their own thoughts.
The gold-rimmed glasses were placed in their case. Lin Su closed it, clearly having no intention of wearing them now.
"Assistant Lin, I'll take you home!" Only then did Mu Xiaomu's words remind him that she had been the one to send Gu Lin home the last time he got drunk.
Mu Xiaomu immediately guessed what he was thinking. Pretending not to know, she asked, "Xiao Jiang and the others said you live in Westside Residential Community. I happen to be going that way."
Westside Residential Community was where he had rented a place before.
Her words made Lin Su realize that she was right. It was perfectly normal for an assistant to appear at her superior's home.
Lin Su smiled. "No need. I'll just take a taxi back myself."
After taking only a few steps, his footing became unsteady, though his head had yet to grow muddled.
He cursed himself for being too impulsive again. Tequila was strong liquor. One glass might seem fine at first, but once the alcohol hit, it could make a person dizzy enough to collapse.
Leaning against the car, Lin Su used the last trace of his sobriety to say, "Please help me find a hotel. Any one will do..."
"Assistant Lin, don't worry. I'll definitely get you there safely." Seeing her righteous expression, Lin Su finally breathed a sigh of relief.
And so—
Gu Lin looked at the person by his feet, swiftly scooped him up in his arms, and looked up again. The woman at the front desk smiled and waved goodbye to him, shouting, "Good luck, President Gu!"
Good night. Wishing you both a pleasant evening.
