A Powerful Man
Lin Su slept fitfully, feeling that this embrace was somehow familiar. He burrowed deeper into the other person's arms.
He could clearly feel himself being carried, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not open his eyes to see who it was. Leaning against the man's chest, Lin Su listened to his heart beating steadily.
Gu Lin gently laid the person in his arms on the bed. Seeing Lin Su's flushed cheeks and sweat-dampened forehead, he went straight into the bathroom. When he came back out, he had a wet towel in his hand.
The warm, soft towel slowly wiped away the sweat on Lin Su's forehead before finally resting against his flushed cheek.
Half-asleep, Lin Su found it comfortable and unconsciously rubbed his cheek against it. Then, sensing the coolness trying to leave, he reached out and pressed it down tightly, mumbling, "Don't... don't go."
A slender, soft touch covered his hand. Gu Lin's gaze traveled along his arm and settled on those fair, lightly flushed cheeks. His peach blossom eyes were slightly unfocused, seeming drunk yet not quite, hazily looking at the person before him. His reddened lips murmured, "Gu... Gu Lin?"
"Mm."
Hearing his response, Lin Su abruptly sat up and forcefully pulled him to the bedside by the wrist.
Lin Su leaned closer. Just as their foreheads were about to touch, he raised a hand and pinched that cool, indifferent face, his red lips muttering, "This face again."
"Are you facially paralyzed?" They were so close that Lin Su's fair cheek pressed directly against Gu Lin's. With every breath came a faint scent of rose wine.
Gu Lin inhaled lightly, feeling that the scent was both familiar and strange.
The drunk man was unsteady on his feet and tipped forward into Gu Lin's arms, his slender arms naturally wrapping around Gu Lin's waist.
"You... always wear that expression every day. Who could stand you?"
Lin Su raised his hand and pinched him again. "Ice-cold face... hm? It's soft?" Wasn't ice supposed to be hard? How could it be soft?
Unconvinced, he pinched him again. Throughout it all, Gu Lin let Lin Su do as he pleased, without a trace of impatience or anger on his face—only restraint.
Gu Lin tensed and stopped looking at the person in his arms. Taking a deep breath, he gritted out, "You're drunk. Get some rest."
"I'm not drunk!" He suddenly sat up and shouted. His peach blossom eyes widened as he tried to glare fiercely, but they were full of charm instead.
Gu Lin pressed his lips together, his fingers tightening again and again as he forcibly suppressed the turmoil in his heart. He opened his eyes with a tremble, wanting to coax him gently, but Lin Su quickly got up and paced back and forth twice in front of him.
"Look, I can still walk in a straight line..." he said solemnly, then walked back and forth again.
Gu Lin froze, then actually laughed. A spring-like smile appeared on his cool face. Watching Lin Su stare at him with wide eyes, warmth gradually rose in his dark gaze.
Assistant Lin was kind of cute.
"You're laughing at me? You don't believe me?!" Lin Su put his hands on his hips, puffing up angrily as though he were truly upset.
The usually gentle and composed Assistant Lin was showing another side of himself again. Yet no matter which side it was, they were all wonderful. Gu Lin liked them all.
Liked?
Gu Lin questioned those two words. What he had always liked was Lin Su's body. How could it be...
"What do you mean by frowning?" Lin Su leaned closer and directly smoothed out his sharp brows with both hands, then nodded in satisfaction.
Gu Lin stared at the dazed person before him: fair skin, slightly intoxicated peach blossom eyes, and moist lips. His Adam's apple bobbed.
The Omega before him did not notice the dark, unreadable look in the man's eyes. Seeing Gu Lin staring at him, Lin Su assumed he still did not believe him and suddenly pressed the tip of his nose against Gu Lin's.
"You don't believe me?" Drunk people always repeated themselves and spoke incoherently. Gu Lin did not care about that. It was just that the faint floral fragrance in Lin Su's breath, his confused gaze, and every movement he made were teasing Gu Lin, making his restraint agonizing.
Lin Su only felt dizzy and exhausted. Without thinking, he leaned directly against the man. But Gu Lin lost his balance and fell backward.
Wasn't there supposed to be a soft mattress? This was not comfortable at all, especially when it felt as if his leg were resting against an uneven wooden board. He rubbed at it for a long time, but it did nothing.
"Forget it, I'll make do... huh?"
Gu Lin's body went rigid. He did not dare move at all. Veins bulged on his forehead, and his teeth clenched with a grinding sound.
"Lin! Su!"
Lin Su had been sleeping soundly when he felt himself being woken again. Rubbing his eyes, he looked up and asked, "What?"
"You called me?"
Gu Lin gritted his teeth. "Get off."
"I know! You!" His mind was a complete mess now, and his words jumped back to what he had said earlier. "I'm not drunk!"
"You don't believe me?! Is that it..." As he spoke, he grabbed Gu Lin's collar tightly with both hands. "I... I can even recite... recite my ID number!"
"7877..."
The rest became indistinct murmurs, and he fell asleep lying on Gu Lin.
The drunk one had fallen asleep, leaving behind a restrained "powerful" man.
Gu Lin lay there for a long while before letting out a deep breath. Only then did he slowly push Lin Su aside. After tidying everything up, he lowered his head with a helpless smile and walked out.
