The Provoked President Gu
"Xia Mingxuan!" Gu Lin said coldly.
Lin Su pressed his lips together slightly, looking as calm as ever, though he was actually a little flustered. Not knowing how to answer for the moment, he could only smile without speaking and look up at Gu Lin, making his meaning quite clear.
With a smile, he gave the most official answer. "As for President Gu's private affairs, you can ask him yourself."
Xia Mingxuan shot a glance at someone. "Ask that old stick-in-the-mud? He probably couldn't squeeze out a word in three days."
"Xia Mingxuan!"
"Here, here, here!"
Xia Mingxuan asked again, "That Xiao Bai... beauty at your lobby reception desk, was she specially recruited?"
"Our company has brought in so many new people, but hers seems to be the only file I haven't seen." Xia Mingxuan patted him mysteriously. "Was she specially recruited by your President Gu?"
Gu Lin shot him an icy look. "Are you done with what's on your hands?"
"Want me to find you something to do?"
Xia Mingxuan brazenly squeezed in beside him. The two were extremely close, and Lin Su shifted away uncomfortably. Yet the man seemed glued to him—every inch Lin Su gave, Xia Mingxuan moved an inch closer, as if determined to press right up against him.
[What does Xia Mingxuan mean? Could he like B... uh...]
"Move." Gu Lin's words interrupted his thoughts. It was the first time he had ever seen Gu Lin's face so dark.
Xia Mingxuan was yanked up by his friend just like that, his face full of confusion. "Hey, hey, what do you mean by that?"
"He's not an Omega, and he's not your wife. What are you getting so worked up for?"
[That was a pretty accurate guess? Though I meant the first part.]
That one sentence successfully silenced both of them. Seeing Gu Lin freeze, Xia Mingxuan quickly spun around and dodged away.
Only then did he notice their differing expressions. Xia Mingxuan quickly sensed that something was off, and a thought surfaced in his mind.
While no one was paying attention, Xia Mingxuan darted in front of Lin Su, pulled him straight to his feet, and gave him a huge hug.
It all happened so suddenly that neither Lin Su nor Gu Lin had time to react.
"Sniff, sniff. He smells kind of nice."
"Damn it! Gu Lin, you bastard! Hiss."
Before he could recover his senses, Xia Mingxuan had already been thrown to the ground. There was now an obvious bruise on his face, and the corner of his mouth had been split open.
Gu Lin shielded him in his arms. Looking up, Lin Su saw anger appear on the man's usually icy face. It was the first time he had seen Gu Lin lose his temper. In his impression, Gu Lin had always been calm and composed, his expression unchanged—except during certain matters.
"See? One explosion, and it all came out." Xia Mingxuan covered his mouth and rubbed his backside, thinking to himself: Trying to fool an old hand like me? I'll expose you two in minutes.
Lin Su paused slightly. As he turned his gaze, a cold gleam flashed over his gold-rimmed glasses. He was clearly smiling, but there was no warmth in his eyes. "President Xia certainly has a wonderful sense of humor."
"Didn't your biology teacher teach you that this counts as sexual harassment?"
After all these years, he still had not fully adjusted to this whole ABO thing. But seeing the two of them glare at him, he finally realized just how reckless his actions had been—especially since this person was his old friend's little husband.
He gave a ninety-degree bow and shouted, "I'm sorry, I was wrong!"
"Please forgive me! Or give me two more punches." Seeing that neither of them was moved, he scrunched up his face and said, "Three punches!"
Gu Lin's face was dark and terrifying, his eyes like knives as if he wanted to carve Xia Mingxuan apart. Grinding his molars, he said, "Fine! Three punches, right?"
Lin Su had not expected Gu Lin to take him seriously. He quickly stepped forward and grabbed him. "Gu Lin, forget it."
As soon as the words fell,
the guy opposite them shouted, "Sister-in-law is so righteous!"
[You should still hit him! Beat him half to death—preferably in the mouth!]
"Shut up!" Lin Su shot him a glare, but his hand holding Gu Lin's did not loosen.
Xia Mingxuan knew when to stop and tightly shut his mouth.
Thinking of what had just happened, Gu Lin's face twisted slightly with rage. Even his neck had turned red, and the viciousness in his eyes resurfaced.
He could sense that Gu Lin was on the verge of losing control. Part of it was likely an Alpha's instinctive reaction to protect his Omega, but he had not expected Gu Lin's response to be so intense.
At that moment, not only Lin Su but even Xia Mingxuan could sense that something was wrong with Gu Lin.
"President Xia, you've only just returned. Why don't you go back and rest first?" It was entirely meant as a way to give him an out.
"I'm leaving, then you—" Before he could finish, Gu Lin's murderous gaze shot toward him like a cold arrow. It frightened Xia Mingxuan so badly that he did not dare say another word, much less glance at Lin Su.
"Until we meet again!" With that, he vanished in a flash.
[Does this guy train or something? How can he run so fast?]
Something was very wrong with Gu Lin. His eyes had turned red, and his pheromones were spilling out wildly.
This could not go on.
"Gu Lin? Gu Lin?"
Silence. No answer.
Lin Su lightly patted the man's cheek and called out again in a probing tone, "Gu Lin?"
"Mm." His voice was hoarse, his eyes still fixed tightly on Lin Su.
Lin Su sighed softly and led him into the break room. He loosened his tie, then, right in front of Gu Lin, used his slender fingers to undo the white buttons one by one.
He leaned against Gu Lin's shoulder and tilted his head slightly, his voice gentle. "Bite me."
