Life-bound Spirit Treasure

"After nearly two billion years, I, Yuan Tian, had finally descended once more." In a wasteland stood a young man around twenty, dressed in a green Daoist robe. He was not particularly handsome, but his features were fairly refined. He was our protagonist—Yuan Tian. It had not been easy. After more than a billion years, our protagonist had finally transformed. The magnificent Primordial World was about to begin.

Yuan Tian had finally transformed; he should have been happy. Yet one matter still troubled him: his true body, the Creation-grade Innate Spirit Root, Green Willow.

It turned out that plant-type Spiritual Roots did not truly transform using their original bodies. In other words, after a plant-type Spiritual Root transformed, its true body still remained.

Under normal circumstances, it should have been a good thing for one's true body to remain after Transformation. But everything had two sides; where there was good, there was naturally bad. The bad side was that if someone destroyed your true body, even if you did not die, you would still be stripped of a layer of skin. At the very least, severe injury was certain.

Therefore, plant-type Spiritual Roots generally had two choices after Transformation. One was to follow the path of the future Second Patriarch of the Western Religion and turn their own true-body Spiritual Root into a Spirit Treasure, making it their Life-bound Spirit Treasure. This left them with no worries for the future, and was the path chosen by the vast majority of plant-type Spiritual Roots after Transformation. However, this might not be a good choice for Spiritual Roots that could blossom and bear fruit. After all, some Innate Spirit Roots existed as only a single tree between Heaven and Earth; once it became a Life-bound Spirit Treasure, that kind of Innate Spirit Root would no longer exist. One could not possibly guard one's true body at all times. For example, in Journey to the West, Sun Wukong destroyed Zhen Yuanzi's true body while Zhen Yuanzi was away. Though it was revived afterward, had he not still suffered for it?

Unless the owner of a Life-bound Spirit Treasure died, no one else could use it. Even a Sage could not seize another person's Life-bound Spirit Treasure. Originally, Yuan Tian could have simply turned his true body into a Life-bound Spirit Treasure. But his true body was a Creation-grade Innate Spirit Root, equivalent to an Innate Supreme Treasure. With Yuan Tian's current strength, however, he could not turn it into an Innate Supreme Treasure. At most, he could make it a Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure—though it would certainly be at least a Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure. Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasures and Innate Supreme Treasures were only one grade apart, yet the difference in their might was like the gap between Heaven and Earth. How could Yuan Tian not be conflicted?

Should he turn his true body into a Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure now, or wait until his strength increased and turn it into an Innate Supreme Treasure? What a dilemma!

As his hand seals flew forth one after another, Green Willow, his true body, gradually shrank from its original million-zhang size. Finally, with Yuan Tian's last hand seal, the Creation-grade Innate Spirit Root suddenly transformed into three charts and flew toward him. Yuan Tian hurriedly caught the three charts flying at him.

On one side were the five words "Chaos Star Chart," while the other depicted the Celestial Stars. On the final chart, one side bore the words "Mountains and Rivers State Chart," while the other depicted earth, mountains and rivers, and trees. The writing on the magic treasures was formed from Great Dao Laws and was called Divine Script. Every piece of Divine Script possessed immense might. There were three thousand Divine Scripts in all. For the three thousand Primordial Chaos Demon Gods, magic treasures possessing Divine Script could evolve, though the conditions for evolution differed and were exceedingly difficult. Since all three charts had been transformed from his true body, Yuan Tian did not need much refining to completely refine the three Spirit Treasures.

It turned out that Yuan Tian's true body, the Creation-grade Innate Spirit Root Green Willow, truly lived up to its name. Green Willow actually carried five Laws: Primordial Wood Law, Primordial Earth Law, Chaos Star Law, Time Law, and Spatial Law.

Primordial Wood Law and Primordial Earth Law were Laws Green Willow inherently possessed. Chaos Star Law came from Green Willow obtaining the inheritance of Star, Primordial Chaos Demon God, by a fortunate coincidence during the opening of Heaven. Unfortunately, Star Demon God had suffered grave injuries during the opening of Heaven and could no longer reincarnate and cultivate anew. Otherwise, what place would there have been for Yuan Tian? But now, Chaos Star Law had fallen into Yuan Tian's lap. As for the final two Laws, Time Law and Spatial Law, known as heaven-defying Laws, Spatial Law was also one Green Willow inherently possessed. Green Willow was also called Hollow Green Willow and was born with Spatial Law. In other words, Green Willow was innately endowed with three great Laws. The three Spirit Treasures Yuan Tian had obtained had been formed when Green Willow, Yuan Tian's true body, was stimulated by his secret art and combined with the five great Laws. The "Chaos Star Chart" contained Chaos Star Law and was transformed from the branches and twigs of Yuan Tian's true body. It contained three hundred and sixty-five Chaos Star Banners, each at the Low-Grade Innate Spirit Treasure level, as well as one hundred and eight thousand Lesser Star Banners, each at the Innate Treasure level. It could form the Chaos Star Formation, integrating trapping, defense, and attack into one. It was three parts stronger than the Demon Race's All-Heavens Star Formation. The "Nine Heavens Chart" contained Spatial Law and Time Law. Within the chart lay a world of its own, and it could form the Nine Heavens Annihilation Formation, which specialized in slaughter. The "Mountains and Rivers State Chart" contained Primordial Wood Law and Primordial Earth Law. Within the chart also lay a world of its own, and it could form the Chaos Wutu Formation, specializing in defense and trapping.

It could be said that all three Spirit Treasures were formation-chart-type Innate Spirit Treasures. Worth mentioning was that all three formation charts ranked among Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasures—three evolvable Top-Grade Innate Spirit Treasures. Among them, the Chaos Star Chart even contained three hundred and sixty-five Low-Grade Innate Spirit Treasures and one hundred and eight thousand Innate Treasures. Though they could not be taken out and used separately, this was still an unexpected delight for Yuan Tian. After all, who had more Innate magic treasures than him now?
