Background

Yuan Tian was an orphan on Earth, raised by an elderly couple who left him a substantial inheritance after their deaths. He received martial-arts instruction in childhood, became a super-first-rate expert in the era of declining Dharma, and lived largely as a shut-in devoted to training. 1

While cultivating, he was struck by a book that emerged from a black hole. The incident awakened memories from nine prior lives, each of which had belonged to a top-tier expert from the Primordial Wilderness or later Cultivation World. 2

Several remembered lives shaped his present path:

• First life — An early Human Clan member who reached peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal in under ten thousand years. A formation genius, he studied the Twelve Heavenly Gods Baleful Formation and All-Heavens Star Formation during the Witch-Demon War before dying alongside thirty-six Demon Sages. 2
• Second life — A witch-human who awakened Witch Clan bloodline, cultivated the Nine Revolutions Profound Technique, attained a Great Witch body, and died amid Chiyou and the Yellow Emperor’s conflict. 2
• Third life — A Human Clan cultivator who obtained the Mystic Sect’s Nine Revolutions Origin Technique, attained the Dao Fruit of a Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal, and died in the Investiture of the Gods War. 2

Appearance

Yuan Tian normally appears in human form and is described as approximately 1.8 meters tall. He can expand his body to one hundred thousand zhang when employing the Eternal Imperishable Body. 38

Personality

Yuan Tian is intensely curious, especially about formations, cultivation methods, and unfamiliar techniques. His first life died studying great formations on a battlefield, and in his current life he repeatedly studies formations in depth rather than settling for a superficial understanding. 2 12 13

He values practical strength over rhetoric or schemes. Aware that inherited memories did not give him genuine combat experience, he deliberately sought battle with the Dragon Clan to temper his instincts and physical body. 17 20

Despite his aggression in battle, Yuan Tian is careful with territory and companions. He established powerful formations around Penglai Island and later built a concealed, defended cultivation site for Pang Heng before departing alone. 15 25 26
