Background / History

Di Tian is a former God-Level being who has fallen from that realm, but retains the potential to become a god again. He is the child of the Light and Dark Dragon Kings and the current patriarch of the Black Dragon Clan 73 150 155.

Although publicly regarded as the ruler of Soul Beasts, Di Tian serves the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena, who recuperates beneath the Lake of Life. He guards her, conveys her will, and directs the Ferocious Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest. In the Douluo I Era, humanity has not explored the forest sufficiently to know that he exists 5 255.

His attitude toward humanity differs across the eras. The Douluo I Era’s Ferocious Beasts are comparatively approachable, whereas the Douluo II Era’s Di Tian sees advancing human cultivation and Soul Guidance technology as threats he cannot allow to develop unchecked. In the Douluo III Era, his cooperation with Bai Chen is secured partly through pressure from the Evil God backing Bai Chen 253.

Appearance

  • Human form: A black-haired, golden-eyed young man whose bearing conveys authority without deliberate gestures. His pupils are golden and vertical 5 51.
  • Dragon form: A vast black dragon, seen moving through dark clouds above the Spirit Pagoda’s first public event 258.
  • Dragon God Claw: When activating the technique, his right hand transforms into a black dragon claw surrounded by thick black smoke 291.

Personality

Di Tian is proud, commanding, and deeply loyal to Gu Yuena. He questions the cost of supporting Bai Chen’s plans but obeys her decisions. His confidence in his own strength initially leads him to underestimate Bai Chen’s Three-Era Fusion, though he accepts defeat once its superiority becomes clear 6 290 292.

His cooperation is pragmatic rather than unconditional. He offers assistance in exchange for sufficient benefits, tests Bai Chen’s honesty before acting on sensitive intelligence, and kills both participants in the first Soul Spirit experiment to prevent information from leaking. Even after agreeing to consider Soul Spirits, he challenges whether empowering humans will simply enable greater slaughter of Soul Beasts 18 46 51 255.

His attachment to his kin reveals a more emotional side. Finding Dragon Valley produces an unprecedented smile and exuberant laughter because it offers the chance to locate his parents’ remains. He also treats Sea Soul Beasts as kin despite their different affiliations, making Ha Luosa’s slaughter of them personally offensive to him 130 150.

Abilities & Skills

Cultivation and Combat Strength

  • Near-god cultivation: His cultivation stands just below the gods; his physical and spiritual strength are somewhat below Bai Chen’s God-Level body and Divine Sense during Three-Era Fusion 290.
  • Overwhelming force: He effortlessly defeats and kills Tang Hao when summoned to protect Bai Chen 97.
  • Tribulation interception: He blocks the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s million-year Heavenly Tribulation, sustaining only slight injuries 18.
  • Major limitation: His strength does not prevent Bai Chen’s combined destiny and time abilities from creating a potentially fatal opening during their later spar 290 291.

Dragon God Claw

A secret technique said to have been bestowed by the Dragon God, allowing Di Tian to act as the Dragon Clan’s spokesperson and temporarily wield God-Level power 255.

  • Power beyond Limit Douluo: The claw exceeds the ordinary Limit Douluo level 291.
  • Soul Beast suppression: It prevents Bear Lord from resisting and leaves even the strengthened Snow Empress unable to oppose its suppression 255.
  • Political enforcement: Di Tian threatens to use it against the Evil-Eyed Tyrant Ruler while carrying out Gu Yuena’s orders to support Bai Chen’s Soul Spirit mission 272.
  • Variants: The black claw lacks the full seven-element power of the multicolored version. Bai Chen suspects that the latter borrows the Silver Dragon King’s authority 291.
  • Countermeasure: Bai Chen’s Sword of Judgment temporarily disables the claw through its Supreme Evil Attribute 291.

Darkness Manipulation

  • Elemental mastery: Even while suppressing his cultivation to Bai Chen’s level, Di Tian retains his understanding of darkness and believes no one beneath the gods surpasses him in that attribute 45.
  • Restraint: His dark power immobilizes the human selected for the first Soul Spirit experiment 17.
  • Defense: He creates a black shield resembling an enlarged dragon scale 290.
  • Large-scale manifestation: His darkness blankets the sky and envelops the Star Dou Great Forest during his spar with Bai Chen 290.

Spatial Manipulation

  • Movement restriction: He uses spatial power to halt Bai Chen’s movements while attempting to capture him 254.
  • Retrieval: He pulls a captive from the void and tears open space to bring the Three-Eyed Golden Lion to Bai Chen 17 45.
  • Spatial passages: He opens black rifts that greatly shorten travel time 272.
  • Limit: These passages are unstable; damage or interference during transit can cause serious difficulties even for him 272.

Spiritual Power and Perception

  • Mental resistance: As patriarch of the Black Dragon Clan, he possesses strong resistance to spiritual attacks 45.
  • Truth assessment: He examines Bai Chen’s emotional fluctuations with spiritual power and Soul Power before accepting the Dragon Valley information 51.
  • Danger detection: He senses Bai Chen’s powerful approaching aura and emerges to confront it 290.
  • Limits: Bai Chen’s fate-linked Soul Shock bypasses his resistance when his spiritual power is suppressed. Di Tian also cannot perceive the future scenes visible to Bai Chen and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion 45.

Bloodline Resonance and Protective Measures

  • Bloodline resonance: In Dragon Valley, he releases his power to locate his parents’ remains; separate light and darkness beams respond to him 150.
  • Auspicious Beast protection: His safeguards allow him to sense danger to the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and attempt to retrieve her directly. The protection can be rejected by its recipient 115.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Black Dragon Sword — Wielded during his spar with Bai Chen after the Three-Era Fusion 290.
  • Reverse Scale — Given to Bai Chen on Gu Yuena’s orders after the Water-Fire Dragon Kings’ souls are summoned 73.

Relationships

  • Gu Yuena / Silver Dragon King — His lord and the true ruler he represents. He reports major discoveries to her, guards her recovery, and carries out her decisions even when he questions their cost 5 6 51 257.
  • Bai Chen — Initially a valuable human whose fortune should be preserved; later an intelligence source, cooperation partner, and sparring opponent. Their relationship develops through resource exchanges and joint efforts to establish the Spirit Pagoda 5 46 51 255 258 292.
  • Three-Eyed Golden Lion — The Emperor Auspicious Beast under his protection. She visibly relaxes upon meeting him, and his safeguards continue to protect her while she lives among humans 5 115.
  • Light and Dark Dragon Kings — His parents. Locating their remains is a long-held wish and a major reason Dragon Valley matters personally to him 150.
  • Bear Lord — A subordinate who covets his position as Beast God. Di Tian uses the Dragon God Claw to enforce Gu Yuena’s will when Bear Lord resists becoming Bai Chen’s Soul Spirit 17 255.
  • Bi Ji — A fellow leader whose mediation softens his response to Bai Chen’s proposal. He entrusts Spirit Pagoda preparations to her and the Myriad Demon King while accompanying Gu Yuena 255 257.
  • Myriad Demon King — Assigned to protect Bai Chen after Di Tian verifies the Dragon Valley intelligence; later entrusted with Spirit Pagoda preparations 51 257.
  • Sky Dream Ice Silkworm — Di Tian protects his million-year breakthrough and oversees his Wisdom Soul Ring formation, despite tension and mutual dislike 18 43.
  • Snow Empress — A rival Soul Beast ruler who prevents him from capturing Bai Chen. Her increased strength forces him to take the negotiation seriously, though his Dragon God Claw retains a decisive advantage 253 254 255.
  • Evil-Eyed Tyrant Ruler — Roughly his equal in normal combat. Di Tian invokes Gu Yuena’s authority and explicitly threatens him with the Dragon God Claw to support the Spirit Pagoda alliance 272.
