Zhang Yang quietly breathed a sigh of relief, only to hear Gu Shiyan say, "They've all had too much to drink. I'm worried leaving them here."

"Then..." Zhang Yang pointed at himself as if he wanted to say something, but Gu Shiyan cut him off.

"I've notified Chu Tian's assistant. Once we get everyone into the cars, I'll head over," Gu Shiyan said without changing expression. "You go first."

Zhang Yang hesitated, afraid that pushing too hard would make Gu Shiyan notice something, so he could only force a smile. "Okay, I'll go over first. Hurry up, though. Don't keep Director Li and the others waiting too long."

Gu Shiyan watched Zhang Yang leave expressionlessly. When Little Cai arrived, they worked together to get the completely plastered group into the cars they had called.

After giving the drivers their addresses and asking them to drop everyone off one by one, Gu Shiyan got into the back seat with the drunken, muddleheaded Chu Tian in his arms.

Little Cai kept glancing at the rearview mirror, looking as though he wanted to say something.

"Y-you, who are you?" Even after getting into the car, Chu Tian refused to behave. He clung to Gu Shiyan and nearly leaned right into his face. "You look really familiar. Handsome, want to come home with me?"

"Come home with you?" Gu Shiyan laughed in anger, pinching Chu Tian's cheek and giving it a shake. "You little bastard. You see a handsome guy and want to bring him home? So those rumors were true?"

Little Cai inexplicably sensed a storm brewing. He hurriedly withdrew his gaze from the rearview mirror, not daring to look anymore. Hugging himself, he quietly shrank into his seat and pretended he did not exist.

"B-bold!" Chu Tian slurred as he mumbled and tried to pull Gu Shiyan's hand away, threatening him angrily, "Do you know who I am? If you don't behave, then, then..."

"Then what?" A dark glint flashed through Gu Shiyan's eyes, his tone carrying a trace of chill. "Then, just like the ending of all your previous romantic escapades, you'll dump me?"

Chu Tian's alcohol-addled brain could not process so much information at all. Gu Shiyan's figure blurred into doubles before his dizzy eyes, and like a broken record, he could only repeat what the other man said.

"D-dump you."

Gu Shiyan laughed from sheer fury. He pressed the person flailing and pawing at him into his arms, leaned close to his ear, and said in a low voice, word by word, "In your dreams."

Chu Tian had been the one to barge unreasonably into his world. Now that he wanted to run, he would still have to see whether Gu Shiyan allowed it.

After exhausting himself with all that fussing, Chu Tian fell sound asleep while lying sprawled in Gu Shiyan's arms.

Gu Shiyan stared deeply at his carefree sleeping face and told Little Cai to drive.

Little Cai spoke weakly. "W-where to?"

Gu Shiyan paused. "Where does he usually live?"

"Uh..." Little Cai hesitated. Thinking of their romantic relationship, he ultimately did not conceal it. "Ever since I became the young master's assistant, he's basically lived wherever the production crew or show crew arranged for him. On rare occasions, he goes back to the old residence, but it's a little far from here. If we go now, we probably won't get there until after midnight."

Chu Tian did have other residences under his name, but he had never gone to them himself, and Little Cai had never been there either. He was not sure how long they had been left unattended or whether they were even habitable now.

It was already past ten. By the time they got back, cleaned up a room, and settled the drunkard in, who knew how late it would be.

Gu Shiyan took a deep breath and gave an address.

Without another word, Little Cai immediately started the car.

After the Gu family's downfall, all their assets had been frozen and all their real estate auctioned off.

Gu Shiyan now lived in a dormitory provided by his management company, in an old, rundown residential complex. It was laid out like a studio apartment, but it was kept clean.

Little Cai kept his eyes straight ahead. After helping Gu Shiyan bring Chu Tian inside, he sensibly left.

Gu Shiyan looked at the unconscious little drunkard and sighed. Resigned to his fate, he rolled up his sleeves, wet a towel, and wiped Chu Tian's hands, feet, and face before changing him into a clean set of his own pajamas.

While Gu Shiyan busied himself taking care of Chu Tian, something major happened at Qingjing Garden.

As a famous private restaurant in City A, Qingjing Garden operated by reservation only. Its security was strict and its privacy excellent, making it a preferred choice for many bigshots and celebrities hosting dinners.

For that reason, paparazzi of all kinds lay in wait around Qingjing Garden year-round, hoping to one day catch some explosive celebrity scoop and make a fortune.

That day had finally come, except things seemed to be developing in the wrong direction.

Several vans suddenly arrived outside Qingjing Garden. Without sirens, a crowd of police officers poured out and rushed into Qingjing Garden with clear purpose.

The security staff and front-of-house manager were startled and tried to stop them, but the moment they came face-to-face, they were taken aside and told to cooperate with the investigation.

The remaining officers headed straight for a private room and forced the door open, instantly triggering an uproar and a series of clatters as tables and chairs were knocked over.

Qingjing Garden's owner hurried over. He had barely reached the private room door and had not even had time to see what was happening inside when a police officer flashed identification.

"We received a report that people here were using drugs and engaging in group sexual debauchery. We caught them red-handed. Please come with us."

Qingjing Garden's owner's vision went dark, and his legs gave out on the spot.

When a group of well-known industry producers and investors, along with Li Yu, the newly rising entertainment director who had become hugely popular because of Soul Shocker, were all escorted out of Qingjing Garden by the police, the paparazzi lying in wait instantly erupted. Camera flashes lit up in a frenzy.

The domestic entertainment industry was about to be turned upside down!

Eager to be the first to break the news, some paparazzi uploaded the photos immediately after taking them, without even editing them. The raw images instantly drew countless netizens, and the topic shot straight to number one on the trending list.

Chu Tian, who had gotten drunk, knew nothing at all. He slept until noon the next day. The effects of his hangover remained, and his head hurt like hell when he woke, leaving him utterly disoriented.

Just sitting up made his head spin and sent him retching repeatedly, as if half his life had been drained away.

"I can never drink again," Chu Tian muttered in a sickly voice, his face pale. "It feels fucking awful... Little Cai, Little Cai?"

Seeing the unfamiliar, plain furnishings in the room, Chu Tian assumed Little Cai had brought his drunk self home the previous night.

His throat hurt as if it were on fire, but no one answered after he called out twice.

Puzzled, he searched himself and discovered that his clothes had been changed and his phone was nowhere to be found.

"Little Cai?"

Chu Tian called out again, louder this time. After listening closely and confirming that no one responded, he lifted the blanket in confusion and prepared to get out of bed.

His gaze happened to sweep over the room, and he spotted his phone on the desk not far away.

Wearing slippers that were obviously much too big, he padded over and saw a note pinned beneath his phone.

[I went to work. I left you food in the kitchen. Once you wake up, remember to heat it in the microwave before eating. I washed and dried your clothes, and left them in the living room.]

Work?

Chu Tian curled his lip. His boss was still here, so what work was Little Cai going off to do?

Chu Tian was about to toss aside the note and look for water when he suddenly froze, his entire body stiffening.

Wait—

If he remembered correctly, he had overheard Little Cai chatting with Little Huang last time, saying his roommate had terrible hygiene and that he was looking for a new place so he could move out.

And looking at the layout of this one-bedroom apartment... this was not Little Cai's home!
