Su Yu stopped again at the door. Without looking inside, he first asked, "What are you doing in there?"
He heard Gu Lin ask, sounding slightly puzzled, "Where's the pot?"
At that, Su Yu pushed the door open and went in, scolding him as he tried to drag him out. "A pot? Who keeps a pot in the bathroom? You're seriously drunk. Hurry up and go to sleep."
Gu Lin refused to leave. The difference in their builds and strength was too great for Su Yu to drag him away. "I'm not sleeping. I'm making you a late-night snack."
"Wait, you're making me a late-night snack in here?"
Gu Lin looked around. "Can't I?"
Su Yu shook his head. What a diabolical way to behave when drunk.
Gu Lin looked down at Su Yu and asked, "Don't you like my cooking?"
"I do. Of course I do. Let's go outside first."
Gu Lin nodded, apparently satisfied with that answer, and followed Su Yu out. Su Yu took him back to the living room and coaxed him into lying down to sleep. He obeyed, but Su Yu felt as though he were soothing a child.
"All right, go to sleep. Close your eyes."
Gu Lin closed his eyes, but before long, he opened them again. Su Yu stared at him and said flatly, "Don't open them. Hurry up and fall asleep."
He closed his eyes again.
Su Yu figured Gu Lin wouldn't wander off this time, so he went to wash up. But while he was brushing his teeth, Gu Lin appeared at the bathroom door. Su Yu stopped squeezing out toothpaste and looked at the man in front of him. Seeing him carrying a carton of milk and trying to come in, Su Yu blocked his way, utterly baffled.
"I'm
