[Su Wang: No, you got off that fast?]

[Su Wang: Why do you have such a bad temper?]

[Su Wang: Are we still playing tomorrow?]

Looking at the string of question marks, Su Yu replied with only six dots. Who knew what was going through Su Wang's head? He kept pressing him, asking what those six dots meant.

Maybe there was something wrong with Su Wang's brain.

Su Yu exited the app clone and ignored him. He lay on the bed scrolling through his phone for a while before receiving a message from Lu Heyun.

[Lu Heyun: Are you busy? Where should I pick you up for tomorrow night's auction?]

Su Yu bit his finger and thought for a moment. Ever since he had returned to live at the apartment for a while last time, Gu Lin had arranged for a driver to take him everywhere whenever he went out. Su Yu always felt that the driver was there to keep tabs on him.

Lu Heyun couldn't exactly come pick him up here, could he?

Whatever. He would go back to the apartment.

[Su Yu: I'll go back to the apartment tomorrow, then we can go together in the evening.]

[Lu Heyun: Are you coming back to stay?]

[Su Yu: No, I probably won't be back for a while.]

After their chat ended, Lu Heyun slowly turned off his phone. The atmosphere at the dining table was somewhat stagnant. More than ten minutes had passed since the meal began, yet he had not taken a single bite. The woman sitting across from him did not dare move either.

At last, the door opened. A tall Alpha appeared in the entryway. Lu Heyun resembled him somewhat, though his features were softer and more refined than the Alpha's. His quiet demeanor gave people the illusion that he was obedient.

When the woman saw him return, she smiled and hurried over. "Zeyue, you're back."

Lu Zeyue was not particularly warm toward her, but he still responded. Looking at the untouched food on the table, he asked, "Why aren't you eating?"

"Heyun, he..."

Lu Heyun shifted his gaze and gave her a cool glance. He disliked being addressed with such intimacy. The woman seemed to realize this and hurriedly corrected herself. "We were waiting for you to eat with us."

Lu Zeyue could guess that the untouched meal was definitely not because they had been waiting for him. He knew his own son.

"Eat."

Only with Lu Zeyue there did the woman dare eat alongside him. No one bothered Lu Heyun even if he did not eat. The father and son had a strange way of getting along, like strangers pretending not to see each other.

"Which one?"

"Su Tinghuai."

"He has a younger brother called Su Hui, but he's already married."

Lu Zeyue usually did not care about such matters, so he had never paid attention to how many siblings Su Tinghuai had. At that moment, the woman beside him suddenly added, "There's another one, called Su Yu. I heard he's..."

"What is he?"

The woman left the dining table in a fluster to find her phone and prepare to make the call.

Lu Heyun's smile abruptly vanished. He then told them indifferently, "I'm not having an episode. I just thought of something funny."

Only then did the woman recover her senses. She was easily frightened, and her heart could barely take it.

She had seen Lu Heyun have an episode before. He became a madman who recognized no family, and it was truly terrifying.

Seeing him like this, Lu Zeyue swallowed the words of reproach that had been on the tip of his tongue.

The next day, Su Yu got up early. Even Gu Lin, who had an early shift to get to, was still asleep. The auntie had not even prepared breakfast yet, and when she saw him heading out, she hurriedly asked where he was going.

Su Yu told her that he had something to do and needed to return to the place where he used to live. He would come home later.

"Alright, alright. I'll have Lao Zhang take you there."

Su Yu did not refuse. After the driver took him to the apartment, Su Yu told him to go back first and said that he would contact him later for a ride.

Since he always left in a hurry, Su Yu kept forgetting to tidy up. Half the potted plants on the windowsill had already wilted from the sun.

Su Yu moved the plants indoors and watered them. He did not know when he would return next, so whether these flowers survived would depend on fate.

Su Yu opened the refrigerator, cleared the expired food into the trash, then casually took out a bottle of milk to drink. At noon, Lu Heyun messaged him to ask whether he had made it home. Su Yu replied that he had returned in the morning.

[Lu Heyun: Have you had lunch? I've already had someone prepare it here. Do you want to come over?]

[Su Yu: Sure, I'll come over now.]

The moment Su Yu opened the door, he discovered that the door opposite his was already open. Lu Heyun wheeled himself into the entryway, smiling when he saw him.

While they were eating, Su Yu's phone kept vibrating. He opened it for a look and found that Gu Lin had unexpectedly sent him a message. Su Wang was also messaging his other WeChat account. Su Yu had no interest in reading them, so he directly muted notifications from that account before switching back to his chat with Gu Lin.

[Gu Lin: Where are you?]

[Gu Lin: There's an auction tonight. Come with me.]

Su Yu: ???

Could the auction Gu Lin was attending be the same one he was going to?

[Gu Lin: Send me the address. I'll come pick you up later.]

His words seemed to leave no room for discussion. Su Yu unconsciously bit his chopsticks, then asked which auction it was. Sure enough, the auction Gu Lin was attending was the same one he planned to attend that night.

Why hadn't this man said so sooner? He had already made plans with Lu Heyun.

What would happen if he ran into Gu Lin at the auction? Would his useless body abandon Lu Heyun and run to Gu Lin's side?

Su Yu came back to himself, then shook his head. "No. Let's eat."

In the conference room, Alpha stared expressionlessly at his phone for a long while. Su Yu had not responded at all. He raised his head slightly and continued listening to his subordinate's work report when Omega's voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

[Why didn't he say so earlier?]

[I've already made plans with someone else.]

Someone else?

[Whatever. I'm not going with him.]

Immediately afterward, Gu Lin received a message from Su Yu. The other party had declined his invitation.

So he had gone out early in the morning to meet someone else.

"...That concludes this week's work report."

The people in the conference room did not hear Gu Lin respond, so they all turned their gazes toward him. They saw his thin lips pressed into a line, his face cold, his eyes fixed tightly on the phone screen.

President Gu, who was usually meticulous at work, was actually distracted by his phone during a meeting.

During the lunch break, the assistant asked whether he needed to send Su Yu a copy of the auction information.

"No need. Put back the original arrangements for tonight."

The assistant did not understand what he meant and asked, "Should Madam go to the auction alone?"

How would he be going alone?

"Don't bother with him."

"Alright, I'll arrange it right away."

The assistant turned to leave, but Gu Lin called out to stop him again.

He had changed his mind. He wanted to see exactly who Omega had made plans with to attend the auction.
