"There's a business gala tomorrow night. Get ready and come with me."

The Omega sitting on the sofa set down his magazine. The man coming downstairs was not discussing it with him at all; he was informing him that he had to attend the gala with him tomorrow night.

Unable to hear Su Yu's thoughts, Gu Lin paused and instinctively looked at him. He seemed somewhat troubled, his delicate brows already faintly furrowed.

"What? You don't want to go? Or is this your first time attending a gala?"

The original Su Yu did not like interacting with others. Ever since he was young, he had resisted gatherings of all sizes. He liked being alone and preferred quiet. His social circle was small, and he probably did not know any of the people at the gala.

He had been naturally withdrawn, somewhat socially anxious, and easily frightened.

Moreover, just as Gu Lin had said, it truly was the original Su Yu's first time attending such a gala. Back when he was with the Su family, he rarely appeared before outsiders, and neither did his younger brother, Su Hui.

That was precisely why he had been able to replace Su Hui and marry Gu Lin.

Su Yu shook his head.

* [A gala? Boring. These successful people would be better off working overtime and improving their performance instead of attending galas.]*

* [The company pressure must not be high enough. It seems nine-to-five is no longer enough for them. They should all switch to 996 instead.]*

Even capitalists would weep upon hearing that.

Su Yu had already decided that he would find a corner and have a good meal when the time came. Gu Lin could not be bothered to keep an eye on him anyway.

Knowing what he was thinking, Gu Lin seemingly casually mentioned, "Your eldest brother is on tomorrow's guest list."

The Omega seemed delighted upon hearing that. The troubled look from before vanished completely, and even his usually dim green eyes lit up.

For some reason, Gu Lin found the sight irritating. He had never seen Su Yu wear such an expression before.

Yet to Gu Lin, this was undoubtedly a bolt from the blue. The original owner's obsession with his eldest brother ran far too deep. Whenever he saw him, he would completely lose control of himself.

Only after hearing this did Gu Lin's mood improve slightly.

"Don't worry. You won't have a chance to see each other tomorrow. Just stay quietly..." Eat.

Halfway through, Gu Lin suddenly realized he was responding to Su Yu's inner thoughts. He changed the last two words he had yet to say. "Just stay quietly by my side."

His expression was cold as he spoke, impossible to read.

The moment he finished speaking, Su Yu's expression turned puzzled. He was puzzled internally as well. Why had Gu Lin responded so naturally? It was as though he knew what he was thinking.

He did not really care whether he saw Su Tinghuai or not. Seeing him would only annoy him; not seeing him would be even better. But the original owner would not allow it. He raised a hand and gestured in the air, asking Gu Lin why.

"Quite unexpected. This is the first time you've shown such courage."

Whether it was sarcasm or not, the remark sounded rather grating. Gu Lin even gave a derisive snort.

Su Yu had never asked, nor had he dared to ask why. He would only obediently comply and lower his head submissively.

He sensed the Alpha before him was displeased, so he did not ask again. Gu Lin offered no explanation and simply went upstairs.

As an onlooker, Su Yu slowly added,

* [Your daddy has always been very courageous.]*

Gu Lin, heading upstairs, paused slightly. From the corner of his eye, he glanced at the Omega still sitting alone on the sofa, looking dejected. He rather looked forward to the day when this courageous Omega could control his own body.
