Fang Yun's vision suddenly went dark, and his body lost all sense of the outside world, as though he were floating weightlessly in space.

Before long, Fang Yun felt his feet touch the ground. The darkness before him dispersed, revealing endless, resplendent golden light.

Golden radiance enveloped this realm above, below, and on every side. It was bright yet gentle, not at all dazzling.

"This must be the Dragon Emperor Treasury..." Fang Yun looked around, but apart from the light, this realm was utterly empty.

Then countless dragon roars, powerful enough to pierce clouds and shatter stone, surged in from all directions, like ten thousand dragons charging. Their momentum was terrifying. Fang Yun instinctively grew wary, but his expression soon relaxed.

Suddenly, a golden dragon appeared from within the golden light. Its head alone stood a hundred zhang tall, and its immense body wound slowly forward like an unbroken chain of hills.

Fang Yun was about to offer his respects to the elder, only to notice that, despite the golden dragon's imposing presence, its eyes held only a faint glow, without any spark of awareness. It seemed to be a dead dragon, or perhaps a puppet dragon.

Fang Yun examined the golden dragon carefully. Its scales bore numerous scars, one of its horns was broken, and it had only a single eye. He could dimly sense the terrible battles this enormous dragon had endured.

Countless images from the ancient demon inheritance flashed through Fang Yun's mind, soon settling on one in which a Half-Sage Ancient Demon was fighting a Half-Sage golden dragon. That golden dragon was the very one before him. Then the images flickered again.
