In a crude wooden stall hung a lantern casting a dull yellow light. Beneath it stood numerous insulated boxes covered with quilts, with a few green vegetable leaves peeking out. A couple in their fifties or sixties stood inside the stall in thick padded coats, gently stamping their feet and occasionally calling out their wares.
"Fresh cabbages! Only eighteen copper coins a head..." Old Guo called loudly. He glanced at the carriage just in time to see its curtain fall.
Old Guo abruptly fell silent and watched in puzzlement as the carriage gradually receded.
