Amid the Demon Kings' jeers, Fang Yun raised his brush and began writing his second poem, once again using a Sage Page and infusing it with a drop of sacred blood.
"Void Sage Fang really thinks highly of us. If even the poems he gives us require Sage Pages and sacred blood, we won't have lost out even if we lose."
"I'd like to see how he plans to stop all eleven of us by himself!"
Half the Demon Kings were genuinely mocking Fang Yun, while the other half watched him warily even as they jeered.
"Already startled by the chill of quilt and pillow, I saw brightness beyond the window. Deep in the night, I knew the snow lay heavy, hearing now and then the snap of bamboo."
Hu Li stared blankly at Fang Yun, utterly unable to understand his intentions. This poem was not War Poetry either, nor did it possess any particularly powerful offensive force. It merely described an ordinary winter occurrence: someone woke from the cold, looked outside, and actually heard the snow snapping bamboo branches, only then realizing that heavy snow had fallen in the night.
Hu Li admitted that the poem was exceptionally well written. In particular, the final line, "hearing now and then the snap of bamboo," was the finishing touch that brought the whole poem to life. It described the sheer weight of the previous night's snowfall from an exceedingly unusual angle. Combined with the snow filling the sky, it made everything seem to unfold before her eyes.
But Hu Li could not understand why Fang Yun would waste Sage Pages and sacred blood on poems like these rather than write perfectly good War Poetry.
Once the poem was complete, Turning Void into Reality took effect.
