When the Hall of Punishment released its first few pieces of information, Qing Kingdom, Prince Kang, and the various great families did not care in the slightest. At worst, it was merely internal strife within the Human Race. The Hall of Punishment could do no more than issue punishments and reprimands; they could simply throw out a few scapegoats and be done with it. After all, every nation planted spies in the others. If grave crimes were truly to be handed down, neither the Ten Kingdoms nor the great families would escape.
But once word spread that Rebel Species had been involved, Qing Kingdom, Prince Kang, and the great families could no longer sit still.
The great families were relatively better off. No matter what, the Hall of Punishment would not openly declare that they had colluded with Rebel Species.
Prince Kang and the Qing Lord, however, were as anxious as ants on a hot pan. They immediately began begging everyone they could and pulling strings everywhere, hoping the Hall of Punishment would not connect them to the Rebel Species.
The Human Race hated Rebel Species even more deeply than it hated Demon Barbarians. Demon Barbarians might still be taken prisoner, but once Rebel Species were captured, they would inevitably be interrogated with the cruelest tortures before being tortured to death.
Rebel Species were the red line of the Sacred Academy and the entire Human Race. Anyone who colluded with them would become an object of the Sacred Academy's severe punishment.
Within Prince Kang's Residence, Prince Kang and a group of aides sat in the study.
"You bastard!" Prince Kang seized a brush holder and smashed it down over an aide's head and face, beating the man until he clutched his head without saying a word.
