Background & History

The Barbarian Race was historically subordinate to the Demon Race. Barbarian names were once required to include the character for “barbarian” to distinguish them from demons; this rule was later abolished, making race impossible to identify from a name alone. 2784

Demon Barbarians rose to rule the Myriad Worlds after using their immense numbers to exhaust and defeat the Ancient Demon Clan. Great Sage tribes may field more than three billion Demon Barbarians, while the Ancestral God Clan commands affiliated populations numbering in the tens of billions. 1564

Their culture generally prizes personal strength over intellect. The Military Barbarian Sage—who mastered Human Race military strategy and used it to command Barbarian forces—was respected by Demon Barbarian Sages but considered less prestigious than Sages renowned for direct slaughter. 302

During the wars at Two Worlds Mountain and Ning’an City, Demon Barbarian armies repeatedly used massive assaults, Blood-Qi Demon Banners, Barbarian King waves, and Sage Aspect Strikes to overwhelm Human Race defenses. Demon Barbarians have no single physical form. Many combine humanoid bodies with animal features, while mixed-blood individuals may not belong to any identifiable tribe. 260
