After looking over the Four-Legged Black Snake, Fang Yun turned to the green vine, which had already turned blood-red.
Fang Yun stared for a long while. The green vine seemed a little shy and afraid, its tendrils drawing inward slightly and all its leaves drooping.
Besides its main vine, the green vine now had four secondary vines.
Fang Yun stared at the tip of its main vine. After a while, he walked over, grabbed it just below the tip, and held it before him for a closer look.
The green vine trembled all over, terrified out of its wits.
Fang Yun transmitted his voice through Sacred Sense. "Open up!"
The green vine trembled gently, as though begging for mercy.
"Open up!" Fang Yun shouted angrily.
The green vine gave a violent shudder of fright and reluctantly opened its tip, forming petal-like lips. Inside, ring after ring of sharp teeth appeared along the inner wall, layered one upon another.
Fang Yun was all too familiar with this structure.
"So that's how it is."
Previously, Fang Yun had only suspected it without being certain, treating it as nothing more than a wildly imaginative notion. Now, however, he was sure.
Fang Yun let go.
The green vine stopped trembling and seemed a little puzzled. It had thought it was in for terrible misfortune, yet nothing had happened at all.
Fang Yun patted the green vine and said, "The Four-Legged Black Snake might not treat you very well, but he did water you, after all. I'm not telling you to swallow your anger and suffer in silence. Vent your anger when you should, but know where to draw the line."
The green vine froze for a long while before slowly nodding, though it did not seem to understand what Fang Yun meant.
