Fang Yun and Ao Huang exchanged a glance, then rushed into the restaurant. Standing at the entrance, they surveyed the room. Two tables had been overturned, leaving cups and plates strewn everywhere. Three people lay motionless on the floor, while four others sat or sprawled there, vomiting. The stench rose to the heavens.
The people nearby did not dare approach. The servers and proprietor stood to one side in a daze, at a complete loss as to what to do.
Several people hurried outside. Others thrust their fingers down their throats, vomiting up every last bit of what they had just eaten. A few more were so sickened by the sight that they began retching violently. Of those who remained, over half clutched their stomachs, seemingly feeling unwell.
Several people dressed in Licentiate robes were discussing the situation.
"It looks like poisoning! We have no medical books. There's nothing we can do."
"I'll go find a physician!"
"I'll find the nearby bailiffs. If all else fails, we'll ask the county office to intervene. Lives are at stake!"
"Come on, let's split up."
Fang Yun's gaze shifted, and a medical book enveloped in sacred white light appeared before his chest. Beneath it was a pitch-black medical book, the Sickness Scripture, like the other side of a mirror.
The medical book flashed six times in succession!
After completing the Plague Treatise, Fang Yun had used the Medicine Gathering in the Pot to raise his medical book all the way to the realm of the Six Marvelous Physician, placing him first among all living members of the Medical School.
"Everyone, remain calm," Fang Yun said. "These people have contracted an acute plague. Treating plagues is this sage's greatest strength." As he spoke, the Six Marvelous Medical Book swiftly flew high above the patients.
