Lawless: Quite a few newcomers showed up outside the Harvest Tavern earlier. They didn't come in, just stood there staring blankly at us, whispering now and then like they were looking at monsters.

Lawless: It's a real headache, and another thing...

Without a doubt, Lawless had launched into his trademark chatter again.
