Crackle! Crackle!
The sound of electrical current kept buzzing as the streetlights flickered on and off.
Qin Ran ignored it. After tossing the newspaper in his hand onto the bar counter, he turned and walked behind it, positioning himself in front of Mimosa, who was still busy working.
A few seconds later, a figure appeared in Qin Ran's field of vision.
She wore a white nightgown patterned with red flowers. Her hair was disheveled, her face slightly pale. After glancing at Qin Ran with her brown eyes, she walked into the restaurant.
She chose a seat in front of the counter.
"What do you need?"
Once she sat down, Qin Ran asked bluntly.
"Chicken soup."
Her voice was hoarse, as though she had not spoken in a long time.
"Luo Ye, a bowl of chicken soup."
Qin Ran spoke without turning around.
"Okay, Brother."
Mimosa nodded and took out a soup bowl from the sterilizing cabinet before going to ladle soup from the large pot nearby.
The moment the lid was lifted, the rich aroma of chicken soup drifted through the air.
There was no questioning Mimosa's Cooking.
Even with his skills sealed, his Cooking remained far beyond anyone else's reach.
Even the simplest ingredients could make saliva flow faster.
Perhaps he was still some distance away from truly turning decay into magic, but reaching an outstanding level posed no problem at all.
Yet the guest who had entered the restaurant remained unmoved, merely staring at Qin Ran.
When Mimosa approached with the chicken soup and saw the guest, his expression changed. His hand trembled, and just as the bowl was about to slip free, Qin Ran reached out and caught it.
"Go back to what you were doing."
Qin Ran spoke calmly. He turned around and placed the bowl
