Turn off the TV?

That solved it?

Amy stared at Qin Ran, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Wasn't that far too simple?

What happened to the powerful, eerie thing that was supposed to make her nervous and terrified?

Why did she not only feel neither nervous nor terrified, but even want to laugh a little?

"That's all it took to-"

Before she could finish saying "end it," Amy saw the switched-off television turn itself on again. This time, the screen no longer showed that hand.

Instead, there was a figure with disheveled hair and a bluish-purple face, whose gender was impossible to distinguish.

The figure stood there, staring coldly at Qin Ran.

Then, step by step, it approached the screen.

Next, under Amy's utterly horrified gaze, one of its hands reached out.

As though the screen didn't exist and was merely a passage, the figure's pale hand emerged, gripped the inner edge of the counter, and hauled its body forward.

Watching that body squeeze through the tiny television screen inch by inch, Amy froze completely.

The amusement she had felt moments earlier vanished without a trace.

All that remained was the living's fear of the dead.

Mimosa was frightened too.

For the timid Mimosa, most things were frightening.

But with Qin Ran beside him, Mimosa could overcome any fear.

Simply put, Mimosa believed that as long as Qin Ran was beside him, nothing could hurt him.

And that was indeed the case.

While the dead figure inside the television was still struggling to squeeze through the screen, Qin Ran reached out and pulled the plug.

Click!

The television switched off again.

The arm extending through the screen and most of the head that had squeezed out became stuck there, utterly motionless, as though immobilized by a spell.

"That works too?!"
