"I don't want to see that Mumm first thing in the morning."
"I'll leave it to you!"
After saying that meaningfully, An Rattridge Oaken left the dining table.
Qin Ran did not stop him.
After all, this was what the two of them had discussed beforehand.
He nodded at Tracy.
She quickly left.
About two minutes later, the female secretary led Sili Danton and a middle-aged man inside.
Sili Danton was still dressed as a nun, with a kind and benevolent smile on her face. The middle-aged man beside her, however, was entirely different.
He wore a black priest's robe, his expression stern and cold, as though there was no life in him at all.
If Sister Sili Danton was a sunflower beneath the morning sun,
then this middle-aged man was a stone in a cellar.
More importantly, from the moment he saw Qin Ran, the man had been scrutinizing him.
Qin Ran deliberately frowned before greeting Sili Danton.
"Morning, Sister Danton."
"Morning, 2567."
The nun returned the greeting, then introduced the middle-aged man beside her.
"Meltzer, an officer of the Sacred Heritage Society. He was once affiliated with the Griffin Church."
Following the nun's introduction, Meltzer stepped forward and stopped before Qin Ran.
"Hello."
There was no sincerity whatsoever in his cold greeting.
What he did next was even more unexpected.
The moment the words left his mouth, his upper body remained still while he suddenly lashed out with a kick.
The movement was concealed and vicious.
It went straight for Qin Ran's knee.
Whoosh!
The force of the kick tore through the air, raising an eerie howl throughout the dining room, like the roar of a wild beast.
But that roar came to an abrupt halt the next instant.
The kick aimed at Qin Ran was blocked.
