But Qin Ran knew she had tacitly accepted his proposal.

The milk, fried eggs, ham, and toast on the table were still pleasantly warm.
Qin Ran picked up the soy sauce and added a drop to his fried egg. Then, with a practiced motion, he speared the ham with his fork and used it to break the yolk, coating it thoroughly before bringing it to his mouth.
The tender egg gave the fire-roasted ham a different kind of softness.
Combined with the wheat fragrance of the bread and the richness of the milk, it was enough for Qin Ran to polish off every bit of food on the table.
"Watching your eating habits only makes me realize how much you're like those detestable knights!"
A cold voice sounded behind Qin Ran.
"It has nothing to do with knights. I simply don't like wasting food!"
Qin Ran showed no surprise at the sudden voice. He picked up his napkin and wiped his mouth as he answered.
"Nothing to do with knights?"
"Then... what is this alliance with the Danton Church supposed to mean?"
Melanie, one of the Twenty Hounds, walked around the table and stopped opposite Qin Ran. Planting both hands on the tabletop, she looked down at him.
"Exactly what you heard!"
"I want to ally with the Danton Church and obtain what I'm entitled to!"
