Empire State University was located in Upper Manhattan and was an Ivy League private university.

Upon entering the school, one could see its motto: [Strive for Excellence].

Gwen Stacy had excellent grades and was admitted to the biology department here.

Li Wei had 2B wait in the car before entering the university with Gwen.

2B kept her head turned toward Li Wei, afraid that he might be in danger, until he disappeared from sight.

The campus atmosphere in America was lively. Everywhere, girls in short skirts and black stockings were flaunting their snow-white skin.

Of course, whenever Li Wei spotted someone with darker skin, he simply looked away.

"College life really is the best."

Li Wei sighed.

Gwen Stacy hugged her bag and walked with her head lowered, staring at her toes. When she heard this, she was baffled. "Huh?"

Li Wei glanced at the girl who clearly had no idea what was going on in her head and answered, "Nothing."

She definitely didn't know what that meant.

"Ring-ring!"

Soon, the bell rang.

Gwen let out an "Ah!" and sped up.

"Boss, I'm going to class first."

She did not forget to turn around and call out a greeting, but nearly fell flat on her face.

However, her reflexes were extremely quick. She immediately caught herself with one hand, almost crawling forward.

She still wasn't used to high heels.

"Careful!"

Li Wei shouted before heading toward the laboratory.

Soon, he arrived at a biology laboratory.

"Knock, knock."

Li Wei knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

A muffled voice came from inside.

"Professor Connors, it's me."

As soon as Li Wei finished speaking, the door opened, and he was enthusiastically pulled inside.

Curtis Connors had been a military doctor in his early years, but he had lost his right arm during the war. After leaving the military, he devoted himself to researching limb-regeneration technology.

Li Wei had found him earlier and promised to help with his experiments. He had also brought him to New York and gotten him a position as a professor at Empire State University.

This was mainly so he could leech off America's funding.

"Li, you're here."

Professor Connors enthusiastically pulled Li Wei in with his single arm.

"I heard you were looking for me."

Li Wei spoke first.

"It's like this. My experiment has reached a critical stage, but I don't think this place is safe."

Professor Connors spoke.

"Oh?"

Li Wei was puzzled.

"When I arrived this morning, I discovered signs that my laboratory had been searched."

Professor Connors' face turned livid as he said, "A lot of people are keeping an eye on our experiment. I'm worried that someone might be plotting against us in secret."

He brought Li Wei to the area that had been searched. It was obvious that whoever had entered the laboratory was highly trained and had clearly been looking for information.

This was also Li Wei's fault. To generate publicity, he had turned many of the experiments into news stories.

Professor Connors was researching a serum containing DNA from reptiles such as lizards, so it naturally attracted a great deal of attention. Even ordinary people were following it closely, putting Professor Connors under tremendous psychological pressure.

If the experiment failed, he would become the laughingstock of all America.

Of course, if it succeeded, he would immediately become a star scientist in America.

The ability to regrow severed limbs—how unbelievable was that?

Naturally, this had attracted the covetous attention of others, whether competitors or people with ulterior motives.

In many respects, the appearance of this serum would overturn countless existing assumptions.

"Really? Then let's move the experiment to the company."

2B continued driving the Maybach steadily, though this time she was following at the very back.

The vehicles continued forward. Since there was heavy traffic along the entire route, nothing happened.

This allowed Li Wei to breathe a sigh of relief. This was New York, after all. Trouble was not so easy to come by.

Just then, 2B warned, "Master, one of the vehicles is behaving strangely!"

Li Wei immediately looked left and right. "Which one?"

"The adjacent lane by the intersection. It's heading this way."

2B answered quickly. She did not use her eyes, yet it was as if her eyes were everywhere.

"Stop!"

Hearing 2B's warning, Li Wei chose to trust her and immediately shouted.

The two transport trucks ahead also slammed on their brakes.

"Skreech!"

After the two trucks stopped, a tanker truck suddenly burst out from the right side of the intersection, an even more terrifying sight than a fully loaded semi-trailer.

It then tipped directly onto its side.

"Boom!"

With a thunderous crash, the pedestrians instinctively fled, afraid that the thing would explode.

Meanwhile, several transport trucks immediately came up from behind the convoy and surrounded Future Technology's two transport trucks!
