Merlin followed Harriman through numerous corridors. At last, they passed through a door of light and entered an extremely dreamlike space. The sky was pitch-black, yet it glittered with starlight, making for a most bizarre sight.
Harriman respectfully addressed a point in the void. "Lord Dillon, Controller Merlin has arrived!"
"Very well. You may leave first."
The lingering voice that came through was somewhat cold and clear. Harriman glanced at Merlin once more, then lowered his head and respectfully turned to leave.
Merlin looked around, but he could not make out who was within this space. It seemed to be filled with mist everywhere. He knew this was Lord Dillon's residence, so naturally it was far from ordinary. Let alone someone like him who had only just become a Controller—even Middle World Controllers would be unable to see through this place.
"Controller Merlin, do not be afraid. In a sense, we are of the same kind. I merely took one step ahead of you..."
The lingering voice sounded once again. Then, in the pitch-black void, a star seemed to flare to life, transforming into a streak of starlight that appeared before Merlin and gradually condensed into a figure.
This figure looked very young. He wore a white robe, and his eyes were incredibly deep. Apart from that, he appeared quite ordinary. No matter how one looked at him, it was hard to believe that he was Lord Dillon, the ruler of this Great World!
"Lord Dillon!"
Merlin knew that this figure before him was Lord Dillon. Though he had never met him before, Dillon gave him a strangely familiar feeling.
"Creators—we can all be called Creators! Do you know what lies at the root of our becoming the most powerful among Controllers?"
