Inside the deep, shadowy cave, Merlin had barely stepped in when he felt an icy chill seep into his bones.
Though the cave was pitch-black, it was nothing to Merlin and the other spellcasters. They had Mental Power and could see everything clearly in the dark.
Merlin walked at the front, remaining vigilant at all times. At the slightest movement, he would stop and only continue after confirming there was nothing unusual.
"Wait, what's that sound ahead?"
Merlin suddenly stopped and tilted his head to listen.
"Squeak, squeak."
The sound drew nearer and clearer. Merlin's expression changed slightly, and he immediately warned loudly, "Careful, it might be Dark Blood Bats!"
The moment he spoke, everyone saw a massive cluster of red light suddenly emerge from the depths of the dark cave and fly toward Merlin and the others at tremendous speed.
"Freezing Spell!"
Merlin immediately cast Freezing Spell, nearly sealing off the cave's narrow passage with ice.
Bang!
With a tremendous crash, the red light on the other side was completely unaffected by the Freezing Spell. It smashed through the thick ice crystals and charged straight at Merlin and the others.
Gasp!
Only then did Merlin clearly see what the red light was, and he could not help drawing a sharp breath.
