Every Spellcaster needed a laboratory. Whether concocting potions, studying runes, or constructing Spell Models, a laboratory was indispensable.
The most basic requirements for a laboratory were absolute quiet and safety. Merlin's laboratory was extremely crude and clearly failed to meet those standards. Spellcasters above the fourth level could build a tower of their own within the Dark Spirit Domain and use one floor of it as a laboratory.
In fact, Great Mage Leo spent all year in his laboratory. The top floor of his tower was a laboratory that Great Mage Leo had spent more than ten years setting up.
But Merlin was only concocting potions now, so this room was sufficient.
"Matrix, begin concocting the Phantom Demon Potion!"
Merlin took a deep breath and immediately activated Matrix.
"Beep. Task established. Preparing to inventory Phantom Demon Potion materials..."
Matrix proceeded methodically according to the preset steps. It first inventoried the potion ingredients. The materials for the Phantom Demon Potion were anything but ordinary—there were eighty-nine in total.
The Blood-Coagulating Potion Merlin had concocted last time had used only eleven ingredients. Judging from the variety and value of the materials alone, the Blood-Coagulating Potion could not compare to the Phantom Demon Potion at all.
Merlin had already become familiar with most of these ingredients through Great Mage Hall. However, there were simply too many of them, making the task exceedingly tedious. It took Merlin several hours to arrange all the materials across the long wooden table.
He then began processing the ingredients. Some required only a small portion, some had to be ground into juice, and some even needed to be dried.
Thus, the preparatory work alone took Merlin most of a day.
