A carriage rolled slowly along the broad road.
Inside the carriage, Merlin had his eyes closed. He had just meditated for a while, then checked the Spell Models in his Sea of Consciousness. Several days had already passed since he left Ditas Town.
There was nothing unusual about the Guardian Monument Spell Model. It continued automatically absorbing earth elements and accumulating magical power. Beneath the Guardian Monument Spell Model was another Spell Model—the zero-level earth spell, Earth Guardian.
Even after spellcasters constructed higher-level Spell Models, their previous low-level spells would not vanish from their Sea of Consciousness. Thus, the Earth Guardian Spell Model in Merlin's Sea of Consciousness was also slowly accumulating magical power.
Earth Guardian had yet to reach its magical power limit, but most of the earth elements were being absorbed by the Guardian Monument Spell Model. Higher-level Spell Models possessed stronger elemental absorption, leaving only a tiny amount of magical power for lower-level Spell Models each time. Even so, Earth Guardian would reach its limit before long.
"How far are we from Pujias City?"
Merlin lifted the carriage curtain and asked the driver. The driver had originally been Xialiberi's servant, but before Merlin left, Xialiberi had given him both the carriage and its driver.
The driver studied the terrain, then replied respectfully, "Not far. At most, we should reach Pujias City in another three hours."
Merlin nodded. Though he had only been away from Pujias City for a year, he had experienced far too much. From a novice mage one year ago, he had grown into a Six-Element Spellcaster and had even successfully constructed his first First-Level Spell!
