Inner Hall (Part Two)

The pitch-black passage was clearly a spatial passageway. The moment Merlin stepped inside, his mind went blank. Then he emerged in an enormous space.

Even Merlin, who had seen so much, was stunned by the sight. In the seemingly boundless space floated a colossal ship, almost as vast as the sky itself.

At the sight of it, Merlin recalled the futuristic space battleships depicted in films from his previous life. The ship was enormous beyond imagination. Even the Three-Headed Demon Dragon would have looked insignificant beside it.

It was unmistakably a warship!

But the warship had been severed cleanly in two. Even so, the cold vessel still gave Merlin a sense of danger.

"Where are we?"

Merlin looked up and saw beautiful pinpricks of starlight, as though he were gazing into a vast night sky. Beneath his feet, however, lay nothing but emptiness. This was clearly a complete space independent of the Land of Glory.

Merlin was no stranger to such spaces. Any Great Legendary could create an independent space, though one made by an ordinary Legendary would be tiny, perhaps only a little larger than the space inside some spatial rings.

In fact, only Great Legendaries could forge spatial rings. They would also typically create an independent space to store large objects that no spatial ring could hold.

The stronger the Legendary, the larger the space they could create. This one was so vast that Merlin could not find its limits even when he extended his mental power as far as it would go. It certainly had not been created by an ordinary Legendary.
