"Merlin has finally appeared!"
The mages on the city wall looked at the figure riding the Three-Headed Demon Dragon, relief showing on their faces. Before anyone had realized it, Merlin had risen above everyone else in the Spellcaster World. He was its undisputed foremost mage!
The Eighth Prince's nerves eased a little. He remembered that Merlin had spent a long time at the Royal Family's Elemental Ore Vein preparing to face the Sacred Empire. After all this time, his preparations should have been nearly complete.
Merlin had indeed charged the warship to one hundred percent and stockpiled a vast quantity of Elemental Crystals before leaving the ore vein for the city wall.
Fortunately, he was not too late. The Holy Light Empire's attack had only just begun. At a glance, he spotted Bonnet in midair, wielding the power of a god.
"Divine power? And the aura of Divinity!"
Merlin narrowed his eyes. He had encountered many gods in the Void Realm and knew their auras well. Yet Bonnet was no god. Somehow, he held a portion of a god's power within him, along with a trace of Divinity.
Not just anyone could bear divine power. Only those whose faith was so devout that they had devoted themselves wholly to their god, without a shred of selfishness, could withstand it.
Such people were called fanatics, the followers gods prized most. Bonnet was clearly one of them, and he had received the Light God Lord's power.
However much power he had received, Bonnet was now comparable to a Great Legendary. Forty-odd mages could not defeat him. Even more would make no difference; the gap was one of kind, not number.
"Roar!"
Holy light clung to the Three-Headed Demon Dragon too. Flames spread across its body, and it writhed in pain, looking ready
