The Secret of Their Origins (Part Two)

The Spellcaster Civilization, once a dominant force in the Void Realm and home to three Supreme Existences, had actually been created by Orumba.

Merlin found it hard to believe, but it was true.

Orumba went on, oblivious to Merlin's thoughts. "The birth of the Spellcasters went more smoothly than I'd expected. All I did was use the properties of the elements to help them construct a few simple Spell Models. That was when the creativity of intelligent life came into play. With those basic Spell Models, the Spellcaster Civilization developed rapidly. They went on to create deeper, more complex Spell Models, as well as Alchemy, Potionology, Runology, and much more."

"But the gods were powerful. Though the Spellcaster Civilization had developed beyond anything I'd imagined, its progress was hardly smooth. The gods were products of the Void Realm's rules, and they naturally noticed the Spellcasters. Even they seemed puzzled by the Spellcasters' inexplicable emergence. But as happened on every Plane in the Void Realm, once people under the gods' rule gained power, they rebelled. The Land of Glory was no exception!"

"And so the Spellcasters rebelled. But they hadn't had enough time to develop, and their first two attempts failed. I believe you learned that from my carvings. That was when I intervened. I remained in the shadows, of course. Among the Spellcasters, I found several people with exceptional talent. I still remember the first Spellcaster I assumed another identity to guide. His name was Augustus."

Merlin's heart jolted. Every Spellcaster knew that name, and the Great Legendaries knew it especially well. He was Augustus the Arcane Mage, the Spellcaster Civilization's first Supreme Arcane Mage!

"The second was Sethis. His talent was no less than Augustus's. Under their leadership, the Spellcasters finally overthrew the gods' rule and even began venturing
