Merlin's expression changed drastically. He had considered every possibility, yet he alone had forgotten that the Atlan Civilization had given the eight Divine Lords God-Lord-Level Divinity.
Under normal circumstances, this Divinity would not have amounted to much. But at such a critical moment, with Light God Lord already severely wounded, they had only needed to press a little harder to grievously injure him—or even kill him outright.
But with this Divinity, everything Merlin had done before had lost its effect. Gods were said to be undying as long as their Divinity remained, because Divinity was the most fundamental source of a god's power.
"Haha, you want to kill me? Not enough, far from enough! Burn, erupt! Using Divinity so soon really is a waste..."
Only at the very last moment did Light God Lord bring out his Divinity. He had truly been reluctant to use it, because to Divine Lords like them, the greatest use of God-Lord-Level Divinity was not healing injuries or fighting, but comprehending Rule Power and making themselves stronger.
But in Light God Lord's current predicament, he could only burn his Divinity. Otherwise, death would be waiting for him.

A dazzling mass of holy light suddenly shot into the sky like a pillar of light, piercing straight through Mother Tree's dense canopy. Within the pitch-black Void Realm, it appeared incomparably brilliant and resplendent.
"Look, it's Light God Lord's holy light!"
"He actually used Divinity. It seems he has encountered danger. All of us, unleash Rule Power together and blast through Mother Tree!"
When the Divine Lords of the other divine systems saw the holy light soaring into the sky, they naturally made some guesses. They knew that only when Light God Lord was in the gravest danger would he be willing to use God-Lord-Level Divinity.
