Background / History

Song Jia is the only, deeply cherished daughter of Huahai Company president Song Guangyuan and Wu Caiyun. Her father’s oil-industry wealth and influence gave her a prominent position in Fengcheng’s youth circle, where she was known as a popular, individualistic girl with strong opinions. Song Guangyuan also deliberately cultivated her judgment, knowledge, and perspective from an early age. 6 16 18

She first encounters Liu Shang as an apparent outsider in her social circle and initially dismisses his claims of oilfield expertise as arrogant boasting. Watching his interview at Huahai, however, forces her to recognize that his technical ability is genuine. 17
