After arriving at Midgard, Loki first attacked a secret base of S.H.I.E.L.D. to seize control of Tesseract. Ian had already taken out Space Stone from Tesseract, but he used space energy to keep the item intact, and asked S.H.I.E.L.D.'s people to continue research to see if they could come up with something useful.

Different from the movie, he did not enslave Hawkeye's mind, but just beat him up. Immediately afterwards, Nick·Fury contacted Tony and Steve for help. They tracked Loki to somewhere in Berlin, where he was recruiting scientists to help.

Loki noticed their arrival and led the group to a remote location. "I've been waiting for you," he announced, before summoning two daggers.

"I don't know who you are, but you'd better give up the resistance and surrender," Tony said. "This is not the 15th century, and this is not a duel. We have guns now."

"Oh, a big mouth," Loki commented. "The type I hate the most." He threw the dagger with great speed and accuracy.

Steve used his shield to deflect the weapon, while Tony flew into the sky to dodge. Steve threw his shield smoothly, but to his surprise, Loki caught it with a smile, and then threw it back.

Steve didn't have time to react. The shield hit his abdomen and took him flying several meters away.

At the same time, Tony seized this opportunity and launched a weapon that released a strong electromagnetic pulse in an attempt to incapacitate the opponent. However, the weapon went straight through Loki's body, as if he was an incorporeal shadow.

"What the hell," commented the playboy, billionaire and philanthropist.

"Hide and seek. I believe that's what the saying goes, right," Loki said behind him. Before Tony could react, Loki pierced his leg and destroyed the propeller, causing Iron Man to fall from the sky. The Loki in the air dissipated, and a new Loki appeared on the ground.

"Well, it's so simple," God of Mischief commented. He turned around to leave, but the sky suddenly changed. Even though it was midnight, the sky became brighter and a rainbow-like light descended from the clouds.

"Brother, you're here. It seems like it's destiny," Loki said.

"Loki," Thor roared. "What are you doing at Midgard?"

"What I do is none of your business."

"When it affects the survival of Midgard innocent lives, that's none of my business."

"Oh, brother, your ignorance is so cute," Loki shook his head. "Anyway, it's time for me to go."

"No, you can't leave. You have to come with me."

"Come and force me if you can."

Thor stamped his foot suddenly, releasing a bolt of lightning that traveled across the surface at extremely fast speeds. His purpose was similar to Tony. However, Loki just smiled at him and then disappeared. Thor looked around, with lightning in Blink's eyes. He frowned briefly, then went to help Steve and Tony.

Sky Carrier Main conference room:

"Thank you for coming," Fury said, standing in front of the round table, with two people standing beside him. "Let me introduce to you: Agent Natasha·Romanoff, code name Black Widow; Agent Clint·Barton--code name Hawkeye; Steve·Rogers, also known as Captain America; Tony·Stark; Bruce·Banner, also known as Hulk; and finally, Thor--Thor, also a messenger from Asgard."

"Wait, you mean he is Thor? The one in the myth?" Tony asked.

"If it's fake, it will be replaced," Thor replied.

"You don't look much like a god."

"Would you like to try my Divine Power?"

"Okay," Fury interrupted them. He pointed to a man and a woman beside him and said, "These two are Agent Coulson and Maria·Hill."

"Are these people members of that little club you want to start?" Tony said. "I thought I had declined that offer."

"I have no intention of becoming a member of any group. You promised me that I can leave as soon as I finish helping you," Bruce·Banner added.

"You are not here for Avengers Initiative," Fury explained. "Our perpetrator, Loki, has stolen something extremely valuable. I need your expertise to find it before he does something irreversible." A holographic projection appeared in the center of the table, showing information about what they needed to find.

"For technical support, you can contact Coulson and Hill; for field support, you can contact Romanoff and Hawkeye."

He turned his attention to Thor:

"What is Asgard's official position on this issue?" More than two years ago, a hammer fell on New Mexico, and the ensuing events nearly destroyed a small town. Afterwards, Fury got in touch with Thor and Asgard through the minister.

"My brother was deposed more than two years ago, so we support your right to stop him. All we ask is that you give us the right to bring him home."

"I have to report to Security Council, but I don't think they will have any objection to this request," Fury nodded and then left the room.

"If you need anything, we're in the next room," Maria·Hill announced, and then left with Coulson. Soon after, the other Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. also left.

"This man is hiding something," Tony commented.

"He is a spy. Isn't that his nature?" Banner commented.

"Well, I don't like secrets very much," Tony said, walking towards Banner. "How did you do it?"

"What to do?"

"Control the other guy."

"Meditation."

"No, I'm serious."

"Me too," Banner replied. "How about we focus on finding this thing and get this matter over with?"

Tony looked at him, but did not continue the topic. At the same time, Captain America, who had been listening and remaining silent, left the room.

A few hours later, Tony suddenly stopped working and looked at his phone. "Sir, we failed to bypass S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security system," Jarvis (Jarvis) said.

"Are you serious?"

"I'm afraid so."

"Let me see what went wrong." Tony stared at the phone for a minute, then wrote a new algorithm that would help Jarvis break through their security defenses. The process was about to succeed, but something changed at the last minute, and Jarvis failed again.

'When did S.H.I.E.L.D.'s cyber security become so advanced?' he thought, before thinking back to that unpleasant encounter two years ago. 'Now, I'm even more curious.' Over the past two years, he'd tried everything he could to find out how the government reverse-engineered his suit, and what they intended to do with it. Unfortunately, no matter how he did it, or how much money he spent on the subject, he was unsuccessful.

"It's done," Banner exclaimed.

"Are you done?" Tony checked and they did succeed. A few minutes later, everyone returned to the room except Steve.

"Have you found the location?" Fury asked.

"Yes. Whatever you want us to find, it is emitting an abnormal amount of radiation, and we have located its energy source here - Stark Tower."

"Excellent," Fury nodded. "Your work is done. I will send a team to recover this item."

"What exactly is this mysterious object?"

"I can explain." The door opened and Steve walked in holding a weapon he threw in front of everyone. "It is Tesseract--a powerful energy source that the Hydra and Germany people used to make weapons; they almost used it to take over the world."

"Where did you get this?" Fury asked.

"Is this important?" Steve retorted.

"You don't understand. The Earth is facing many threats - threats beyond the capabilities of our civilization."

"I've seen what this kind of power does to the human mind," Steve replied. "How do you know that won't happen to you? Just because you start out with noble intentions, doesn't mean it will stay that way."

"We have no choice," Nick said.

"We always have a choice," Banner added. "And weapons of mass destruction are definitely not that choice."

"I agree with the big green monster on this one," Tony echoed.

"So much chaos. I like it." Everyone turned to look at the source of the sound. When they saw Loki looking at them with a mocking smile, their expressions immediately became solemn.

"Hello, friends. Aren't you happy to see me?"
