Ian and Tony were sitting at a table in the conference room. Avengers and Fury walked into the room one after another and took their seats. Everyone could feel the tension between them. After a few seconds of silence, Fury finally spoke, "What happened?"
"Stark," Ian said calmly, Tony sighed. "I may have caused a Convergence."
"What did you do?" Natasha asked.
"I didn't know this was going to happen," Tony explained. "I wanted to verify his story, so I built a Cross-Dimensional Portal to see other parallel dimensions. I didn't expect this result."
"What did you build?" Fury asked. "Forget it. In other words, opening a portal to other timelines caused this Convergence?"
"That's right."
"To reiterate, there is another universe that is about to collide with ours, right?" Natasha asked.
"That's what I said," Tony replied.
"Don't yell at me after causing such a big accident," Tony snorted, and the room fell silent for a moment.
"So, what should we do?" Steve asked. "Are we... going to erase them again?"
"Yes," Ian replied directly. "Is there any other way?" Steve asked.
"Tony, why don't you tell them what is most likely to happen during Fusion in the universe?"
"At first contact, large-scale space-time fluctuations will affect gravity on a cosmic scale. Planets will fall out of orbit around their stars. Satellites will crash into their planets; countless wormholes will open throughout the universe; Black Hole will swallow everything in their path or implode, killing trillions of living things."
Everyone's faces turned pale.
"And he only mentioned the superficial phenomena," Ian added. "Each timeline has its own Dimension Sea, or has other dimensions revolving around them. As the universe Fusion, these dimensions will open simultaneously, releasing countless energies and forces into our timeline.
"The damage caused by just opening these dimensions will be catastrophic, not to mention the terrifying creatures lurking in these dimensions. Creatures that even I am afraid of."
"Is there something that even you are afraid of?" Hawkeye asked.
"I am very powerful, but I am far from reaching the power ceiling of this vast universe. Otherwise, why do you think I am under so much pressure to save our timeline?" Ian sighed.
"Maybe Steve is right," Tony said. "We can build a Dimensional Stabilizer to block the space-time fluctuations produced by Fusion. Then, we only need to deal with those terrible creatures you mentioned and allow a normal Fusion without killing everyone."
"Is that possible?" Steve asked, looking at Ian hopefully, and others also looked at him.
"How long would it take you to build something like this?" Ian asked.
Tony was silent. "It will take at least 20 to 30 years. But if we use your magic, we may be able to shorten the time to 10 years."
"You've seen the data. If you were asked to guess how long it would be before Fusion starts, what would be your most professional estimate?"
"Less than three months," Tony replied, rubbing his temples with one hand. With his answer, the hope in the room was dashed.
"Well, there's no need to despair," Ian said. "Dimensional Stabilizer is an excellent idea, so I'm going to build it myself. It's good to know if peaceful Fusion is possible."
"Didn't you say we don't have enough time?" Fury asked.
"I'm not Tony," Ian answered directly, making the latter turn over Byakugan. Ian ignored him and continued:
"I have called all of you to this meeting not only to reprimand Tony, but also to give you a better understanding of the scale of what you are about to deal with - to accustom you to making cruel decisions on a cosmic scale.
"Today we are very Luck and able to come up with a peaceful solution, but that is not always the case. So, you must always be mentally prepared to sacrifice other universes for our survival. Do you understand?"
Ian nodded with satisfaction after realizing that his message had been conveyed. "I must warn others of this incident."
"Others? I thought it was just Asgard."
"I cannot protect this world alone, so I have other powerful allies. You will meet them in due time," Ian explained. "If you need to find me, find my clone." He teleported back to Kamar-Taj, and four screens appeared in front of him. Then, the figures of King the Ancient One, Odin, Ra and T'Chaka appeared.
"All-Father, you look good," Ian praised.
"Thanks to you, I have recovered," Odin nodded. "Now, I am quickly returning to my prime and will soon surpass it."
"That's great to hear," Ian nodded. "What about you, King T'Chaka? How are things going?"
"Very good," the Wakanda king replied. "Based on the grading system you provided, we have built the first set of 6-level Black Panther Suit."
"It's great to have made so much progress in such a short period of time, but we don't have much time left, so you may need to speed up the progress," Ian said. "I will send you a tank of Brain-Development Potion. After diluting it, you can use it for a long time."
"We would be very grateful."
"Is there any special reason why you called this meeting?" The Ancient One asked, and then Ian explained the current situation.
"Can you build that stabilizer?" Odin asked.
"No problem."
"I'm glad this issue can have a more peaceful resolution."
"I agree," King T'Chaka added. He saw the image of these people destroying the entire universe, and after that, he couldn't sleep for a whole month. Luck What's more, he and his wife supported each other and finally accepted the cruel reality of their current situation.
"I agree," The Ancient One said with a smile. She knew she had chosen the right person, because Ian did not use cruel methods to win, but made the best decision in different situations.
"When you need to take action, you can contact us," Odin added.
"Very good."
After this conversation, Ian immediately started working, putting his other projects aside. "What solution did you come up with?" he asked Morgana.
"I've built the perfect ward to act as a stabilizer," Morgana announced, showing him her creation. "Earth Protection Shield can ward off alien dimensional threats, so I just had to increase its size and modify the spell so that it would act as a stabilizer rather than a blocker. I even built a power source for the ward."
Ian nodded while observing. Then, he began to modify her work at an alarming speed.
"Wait, you want to absorb a small amount of energy from every dimension surrounding our timeline?" Morgana asked. "Don't you realize how dangerous this is? Those creatures... wait, this is not for us, it is for Cosmic Will!"
"Your reaction is a bit slow this time," Ian commented while continuing to work. "Convergence is not only a battle for all sentient beings, but also a battle for Cosmic Will in every timeline. Therefore, we don't need to do all the work, and we can pass part of the responsibility to it."
"What a brilliant idea," Morgana praised, and then helped modify the enchantment. After it was over, Ian modified the spell he created to contact Kronai, and then cast it. He found himself in a white space with an entity standing in front of him.
"Eternity?" he asked. The entity looked exactly like Eternity from the fourth Thor movie.
"I am the same as him, but also different," the entity replied, his voice cold and indifferent. "You can call me [Eternal Consciousness]."
"I understand." Ian understood what it meant. Eternity represents all time in the universe and can control space, time, matter and energy.
At the same time, Infinity represents all space in the universe. These two cosmic entities are jointly responsible for creating life in the universe, while their sister - death - does the opposite.
Eternal Consciousness represents the soul/spirit/mind of the universe, which is why it is Cosmic Will.
