Invincible Hulk!

Stark agreeing to join the Avengers did not mean he approved of S.H.I.E.L.D. He was only doing it because the Avengers had something to do with his father.

He simply could not bring himself to like Nick Fury or S.H.I.E.L.D. Besides, his palladium problem had yet to be resolved, leaving him in a foul mood.

"To be honest, whenever you come looking for me, it's never without trouble," Stark replied coldly.

Then he turned to Luo Bai and complained, "Seriously, I don't like S.H.I.E.L.D.'s way of doing things either. I was hiring a bodyguard before, and Natasha came to apply. I only found out later that she'd been sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. specifically to get close to me. Isn't that annoying?"

As Stark spoke, he shot Nick Fury a disdainful look.

Nick Fury hurriedly retorted, "Tony, I think you should understand that we were trying to help you."

Stark snorted. "You could have come directly to me, but I find it hard to accept this kind of approach. Besides, if you were here to help me, you should know that my situation is terrible right now."

Nick Fury seemed unwilling to keep arguing with him, so he changed the subject. "Let's leave the past alone. But this time, we really need your help. Hulk is out of control."

Hulk?!

Luo Bai frowned.

After all, he knew that name all too well. Wasn't that the famous green giant?

During the time he had been away, Banner had actually joined the Avengers?

"Hulk is out of control? That's going to be a real problem..." Just as he was thinking that, Stark suddenly spoke.

His expression had turned serious. He must have known just how troublesome this was.

After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Where is he now?"

"Near S.H.I.E.L.D. The situation is extremely bad. He's causing widespread destruction!" Nick Fury explained.

Stark understood the Hulk's destructive power.

Though he had not planned to help at first, he was now growing tense.

"Then we need to get over there right away. Luo Bai, I'm leaving first." He hurriedly said goodbye to Luo Bai.

Then he left with Nick Fury and the others.

Once they were gone, Polaris could not help complaining, "That man named Nick Fury really has an unpleasant way of talking."

"Indeed," Luo Bai replied perfunctorily, glancing at the time.

He had not expected time to pass so quickly. It felt like they had only been chatting for a little while, yet it was already time for dinner.

"Time really flies. It's time. Go prepare dinner," Luo Bai instructed.

The moment Polaris heard the words "prepare dinner," her expression immediately changed.

She hesitantly asked, "Mage Luo Bai, are you... really planning to have me make dinner?"

Luo Bai nodded. "Of course. That was our agreement."

Polaris gave an awkward smile. "I know... I'm doing housework for you to make up for it. It's just... I've never cooked before. I'm afraid you'll think it tastes bad."

Luo Bai fell silent at her words.

Polaris had only just turned eighteen, so it was normal that she did not know how to cook.

Having someone who had never cooked make a meal really was asking a lot.

Just as Polaris had said.

Even if she was willing to cook, Luo Bai might not dare eat it.

Thinking of that, he quickly said, "Then buy something outside."

Hearing that she did not have to make dinner herself, Polaris let out a sigh of relief.

"Okay, I'll go to a nearby supermarket and buy some food now," Polaris agreed repeatedly before heading out.

Luo Bai had opened the Book of the Vishanti and begun studying.

With Stark's matter resolved, Luo Bai's purpose in coming to New York had essentially been accomplished.

However, he was in no hurry to return to Kamar-Taj, mainly because he had realized that he lacked far too much practical combat experience.

Learning magic could not just be about burying his head in books. Learning while practicing was best, so he planned to stay in New York for a while.

After all, New York had plenty going on. If he stayed here, there would always be opportunities for real combat.

Yet Luo Bai had not expected such an opportunity to come so quickly. While he was reading, his phone suddenly rang.

When he picked it up and checked the number, he saw that Stark was calling.

"Didn't he just leave? Why is he calling me again?" Luo Bai muttered as he answered the phone.

The moment the call connected, chaotic noise erupted from the other end.

Cries for help, crashing sounds, police sirens... all kinds of noises were mixed together. Someone who did not know better might have thought Stark was on a battlefield.

Before Luo Bai could ask what was happening, Stark's broken voice came through.

"Luo Bai! Can you hear me?"

"I need your help!!!"

"Can you come over? I'll send you the location! The situation is urgent, and I don't have time to explain!!"

"Hulk is too powerful!! Luo..."

"Bzzzzzz..."

The communication cut off amid a burst of static.

Based on Stark's call and the conversation they had had at the villa earlier, it was not hard for Luo Bai to guess that Stark was dealing with the rampaging Hulk, and that the situation was extremely dire.

Luo Bai was not surprised by this outcome or by the plea for help.

After all, according to what Luo Bai knew.

Among all the Avengers, Hulk's combat power was already at the very top.

He possessed strength, speed, endurance, and regenerative abilities far beyond those of humans, and his power increased with his anger.

It could be said that the angrier Hulk became, the stronger he was.

With Stark's current technology, he had no chance of subduing Hulk. Yet he had agreed to go help Nick Fury earlier... his courage truly was admirable.

And now look at him.

After realizing he could not win, he had actually come to ask Luo Bai for help.

Though Luo Bai truly could not defeat Hulk in a direct clash.

But he was a mage!!

What mage competed in strength and speed?! Magic was what mattered!

So he was still confident about dealing with Hulk.

Since he did need practical combat experience, and the situation was urgent, Luo Bai decided to go take a look.

Raising his hand, he cast a portal spell. Following the location Stark had sent him, Luo Bai quickly arrived at the scene of the incident.

The moment he stepped out of the portal, Luo Bai saw a massive green giant in the distance, built like a boulder, standing in the middle of the road and roaring in rage.

The surrounding pedestrians had never seen such a terrifying giant before. They screamed and fled for their lives.

Stark, clad in Iron Man armor, was currently trying to attack him from the side.

Besides Stark, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the police had also deployed forces.

Machine guns and bullets fired continuously at Hulk.

But those attacks were like tickling Hulk. They could not hurt him in the slightest and only made him angrier.

With a wave of his hand, he threw a punch at Stark.

By sheer coincidence, that punch sent Stark flying right to Luo Bai's feet.

"Hi~~ Tony, are you okay?" Luo Bai greeted him.

Stark raised his Iron Man faceplate, revealing his entire face.

He looked dejected and exhausted.

"No, I'm not okay at all!!! This guy is ridiculously strong!!" Stark complained.
