Background

Qing Lin grew up in Stone Desert City as a mixed-blood child rejected by both humans and Snake-People. City residents viewed her with hostility because of her heritage, leaving her isolated and forced to survive through odd jobs such as handicraft work and cleaning refuse. 1 5

Her mother died after defending Qing Lin from Luo Yi, who had attempted to forcibly take Qing Lin as a maid. Luo Yi’s attendants severely injured her mother; after discovering Qing Lin’s mixed heritage, he abandoned them, but her mother later succumbed to her injuries. 6 14

Qing Lin found Qing Mo unconscious and brought him home, offering him the little porridge she had prepared. Their initially awkward meeting became the start of a close bond after Qing Mo defended her from local bullies and openly accepted her Snake-People traits. 1 2 5

After moving into a rented courtyard with Qing Mo, she began formal Dou Qi training. Her rapid progress was tempered by a dangerous failed breakthrough, after which Qing Mo prepared a safer method using snake-type herbs and a second-order Magic Core. 11 12 28
