The Importance of Clothes

Everyone silently got into the vehicle.

Shen Yue took a loaf of bread and a bottle of mineral water from the backpack on her back and handed them to Shen Mo. "Little brother, eat something first. Remember to stay close to your sister later."

Shen Mo accepted them and obediently nodded.

His well-behaved appearance softened Shen Yue's heart. She stroked her little brother's soft hair, then tucked his exposed shoulder back into his clothes.

She had to find clothes—she absolutely had to find clothes for her little brother!

Shen Yue rummaged through her backpack for a while longer and found a safety pin. She gathered the fabric at Shen Mo's collar and pinned it tighter. At last, it stopped slipping down and exposing his fair skin.

Seeing the result of her work, Shen Yue secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Shen Mo obediently let her fuss over him. Suddenly, he sensed several gazes on him. When he looked up, those gazes had vanished again.

What are those idiot male leads sneaking looks at your grandpa for?

Are they jealous because Sister is so close to me?

Hehe, my sister is the best!

Shen Yue swept a sharp, warning gaze around them.

Her silly little brother had not realized the danger at all. Still, there was one thing he had said right: stinking men were all no good.

The vehicle moved slowly along the road, taking detours whenever it encountered obstacles.

Shen Mo could tell they had a destination in mind, so he asked, "Where are we going?"

Shen Yue said, "We found a factory yesterday. There seemed to be canned food inside. That kind of stuff is easier to store, so if we bring more of it, we can set off for the safe base."

If it's a factory, with so many supplies, how are we supposed to carry them? This vehicle is spacious, but it still can't hold much!

Knowing what he was thinking, Shen Yue continued, "We found several trucks at the factory yesterday. They can still be used. So we brought extra gasoline today. We can drive the trucks back when we return."

"I see. That's pretty good." Shen Mo felt somewhat regretful. He had originally wanted to come clean about his ability, but he could only wait for another chance.

Many of the dishes they had made yesterday had come from Father Shen and Mother Shen's experimental plot. The edible vegetables had nearly all been picked clean.

Ah, I hope things go a little more smoothly today.

But even if there's danger, I'll protect Sister.

I have to stay close to Sister later.

Shen Yue looked at her little brother with relief and held his hand tightly.

Although her little brother had no ability, he still kept thinking about protecting her. This was the little brother she knew, her forever precious baby.

Thinking of that person who had once taken over someone else's place, a trace of relief and ruthlessness flashed through Shen Yue's eyes.

Her little brother had returned, but if she had the chance, she would not let that impostor go either. She would make him pay for what he had done.

What she feared most, however, was that the impostor would take over her little brother's body again. Then she would be helpless against that impostor once more.

A cold sweat unconsciously seeped into Shen Yue's palm. Only when Shen Mo gripped her hand in return and anxiously asked, "Sister, what's wrong? Are you okay?" did she come back to herself.

Shen Yue immediately shook her head. "I'm fine. I'm just a little worried because you haven't been out before, so you might not be used to it.

I'm afraid you'll get hurt, like last time. Mo Mo, you have to obediently stay with Sister. Don't make Sister worry again."

Shen Mo found her words somewhat incoherent. It seemed she was afraid that he would be in danger during this outing, yet it also seemed as though there was some deeper meaning he did not understand.

But no matter what she meant, her concern was impossible to hide. Shen Mo obediently nodded. "It's okay, Sister. I'm pretty amazing too. I'll stay with Sister properly."
