Background

Shen Mo began life as a sickly child beggar in the Cultivation Realm. Brother Tian attempted to guide him toward help; A-Xue rescued him after he was struck by a carriage and brought him to the Acacia Sect as her cultivation servant. A-Xue and Elder Yang concealed his exceptional physique, knowing it would make him a target within the sect. 242 243

The Acacia Sect ultimately exploited him rather than protecting him. After A-Xue was murdered, Shen Mo spent six years hiding his abilities, cultivating the Spirit Cleansing Art, gathering influential backers, and preparing revenge. He became an invaluable cultivation resource because his physique could raise a dual-cultivation partner’s talent by one tier. 247

After killing A-Xue’s murderer, Shen Mo was captured by the Devil Sect. He obtained the Demonic Transformation Art by pretending to abandon immortal cultivation, then secretly practiced both paths and eventually killed the Demon Lord. 247 248

He later failed—or believed he failed—his ascension tribulation and awakened in an apocalyptic world. The new body possessed the Chaotic Saint Physique, while Shen Mo himself arrived with a damaged Divine Soul and limited access to his former powers. 1 2 6 8

Personality

Shen Mo presents himself as playful, teasing, and dependent on Shen Yue, deliberately cultivating the image of her harmless “little brother.” Beneath that façade, he is observant, calculating, and highly protective of the people he accepts as his own. 18 40 323

His past has left him deeply distrustful of exploitation and betrayal. Places reminiscent of the Acacia Sect can provoke violent killing intent, and he fears being weak or controlled by others.
